Stars beat the tar out of Phoenix last night...6-0. With that win, the Stars have moved to within 2 points of 1st place Anaheim in the Pacific Division with 6 games to go. Stars at the moment also own the tiebreaker should they end up tied. That's all great and all, but so long as Turco is the goalie for this team, its hard for me to get excited about the playoffs. :(

This finish reminds me of the one a couple years ago when Dallas overtook Detroit for 1st place on the final day of the season. Good stuff!

Stars also have back to back games against the 2 best teams in the NHL (Detroit & Nashville) this Friday and Saturday. This should determine where they end up seeded. They could either be 1st by then, or as low as 7th. That's how stacked and close the Western Conference is right now.

Yeah its going to be a rough weekend for them but I hope they can pull it out. I hope we fuck nashville up!!!!

I'm praying the Stars end up 6th or 7th and Nashville ends up 2nd or 3rd so they can meet in the 1st round.

And aren't they in the lead now for fewest gaa this season? I hate to say it, by the Dinds have our number, and always have. Trashville on the other hand, i'm not worried about that game. i think it will be more of a revenge type atmosphere for that game.

Nah, I wanna rough up Detroit more. I guess we have reasons for hating Nashville this season, but long time Stars fans want Detroit to go down! Although I would rather do it in the playoffs.

I'm with you on this. I don't think Nashville will be as hard to beat as the Wings or Ducks. Though right now the Wings and Preds aren't as hot as we have been in the last 10 games. I think the Stars have a good chance for the cup this year now that we have most of our injured players back and they are playing well. Now is great timing to have Modano kicking ass. I just hope Turco can step up during the play offs and do his part in winning us the cup. Our offense needs to score alot to help Turco not feel so much pressured. Go Stars.

That is all very true and I agree about the keys to win there. Turco is going to have to get his playoff confidence early into the playoffs or we are not going anywhere. If we get 3 goals in a game and we should be good

If memory serves me correct...I do believe they went into the final playoff series injury plagued and still went to 7 games and still barely lost. :p

Well unfortunately I will not be in country for the playoffs. :( Also the potential exchange of $$ would have to be in person since I don't have a paypal account. If you can wait to pay or be paid till september then we can work something out.

He left the board because he couldn't pay up. After saying he never welches on bets, he always settles his bets, blah blah blah. I started bugging him via PM and he just left. I check periodically for aliases and such. Speaking of which, it's about time I check again.

With 5-6 games left for everyone, it looks like atleast 7 of the top 8 seeds in the West will have 100 points or more. I wonder if this has happened before, because in my 15 years of watching hockey, I can't remember it happening.

It's hard to say. With the way they're playing, I doubt it. But I don't think there's much difference between the 1st and 7th seed, so I don't think it'll matter. I'd rather play a team with little playoff experience team like Nashville than Detriot or Anahiem.

Big weekend starting tonight. Hope it turns out good for us. I am just ready for the playoffs to start. Trying to keep my hopes up, but i'm not going to hold my breath for anything spectacular.

I hope we do a little better as well. Sort of sucks for the team to work so hard and get knocked out the first round.

If we don't make it, I'll get a bunch of money back from the playoff tickets - at least I'll have SOME sort of bright side to it for once.

Why do you think the Stars got the Ice Girls? In direct response to the Carolina Hurricanes (first team with "cheerleaders") and Nashville. I don't know about you but I don't mind hanging out with them...
