It looks like this draft is picking up the needed steam, and slow enough to let the DNC sort itself out. I think he'd be a great candidate, a Reagan Republican.

A real conservative and a big badass redneck from Alabama/Tennessee. He's got my vote if he runs.

I might have to vote in the primary if he is on it.

"Mr. Butterfield, are you aware of the installation of any listening devices in the Oval Office of the President?"

I'll give him serious consideration if he runs. He's been around Washington for many many years.

Guest hosting Paul Harvey all this week can't hurt his chances either. Probably the reason he hasn't launched an exploratory committee yet.

He has been a fillin for Paul for awhile. He has a contract with ABC that goes quite a ways.

And his woman is hawt!

He's definitely a Reagan Republican. The things I disagree with him on I can certainly live with.

And then when he retires he can go do some episodes of "oval office" LOL!

"A True American Statesman" Hmmm...haven't heard that in a while. I sense that he might actually be, and even put the American citizens above special interest. Maybe there is a "uniter" left in DC. Have to watch how this unfolds...and where his campaign money comes from should he throw his hat in.

Very much agreed, although that isn't my primary selection criteria.

I'm of the mind that Mexico gets "banana republic" support which creates the real inequality problem down there.

Like Ross perot said, Nafta created a giant sucking sound, but not of firms moving there; they were already there. It created a giant sucking sound of people wanting capitalism rushing to a place they could pursue that dream. Among others of course. a fence doesn't discriminate based on motive, it only enables better scrutiny elsewhere.

* Romney's support drops to within the margin of error of not existing (that's 3% support in a poll where the margin of error is 3%).

* Giuliani's support drops 13 percentage points since the last USA Today/Gallup poll, March 2-4 (that's gotta hurt).

* Fred Thompson (not running, by the way) is now the No. 3 in the GOP field, at 12%.

Was he just diagnosed with some cancer or something?

I watched a 10 minute interview he did last night. He was diagnosed 4 or 5 years ago but it has been in remission for a few years and it's not life threatening. It is a "slow growing cancer" that is easily manageable/treatable.
According to the interview he is now up to 2nd in polls for the Republican candidate, but I haven't had time to search for proof that this is true.

he says that he brought it out to let people know before he announces any kind of candidacy because he doesn't feel a 65 year old man with cancer should run for such a position without his employer(us) knowing about the condition so it can be used in the decision making process.
It can be spun however you'd like but I tend to believe him because he seems to be a statesmen rather than a politician, which is why I like him.

Dude...I vote for the individual and what they supposedly stand for. Obama has an internal struggle, he hates half of himself.

And the guy wrote a series of memoirs when he was 30. I'm 30. That to me screams douche material. I have stories to tell, and very good ones, but I don't have to publish them as to feel self important.

I suppose it's just coincidence that Edward's wife's cancer has been made public twice when it came time for him to need a boost. Her cancer that has nothing to do with his ability to work.

you're comparing a guy who is running to a guy who doesn't even know if he will run yet. Explain to me how Fred Thompson doing a low level interview that few will hear/see is comparable to Edwards plastering it every fucking place possible.

If he doesn't know if he'll run yet, then why is he announcing it? It's not like he's doing interviews for whatever tv show he's on/was on.

He's going to run. He's testing the waters. That's why he came out about hit cancer. Why else would it matter to the public?

You are the most ignorant liberal I have seen to date. Thompson announced HIS cancer becuase if he ever decides to run for President because he wants the voters who might vote for him to know in advance.

If he starts to send money solicitations to people who wish him well, he is no better than Edwards. If you can't see the difference between the two right now, without any solicitations from Thompson, you are so blind by your liberal hate it is sad.

Haha, you can't read very well can you; I'm not a conservative at all. 90notch is. Denny is. We've butted heads over actual issues more than once. I can honestly say that we've come to "agree to disagree" many times. Funny how constructive dialogue works like that. Try it. I bet you'll find them both pretty open minded, assuming you open yours.
