Went out to House of Pain today and got sized up for my first bench shirt.
He said since im more of a shoulder lifter and a beginner i should go with the "Rage" shirt.

I bought the little slider sleeves to help get it on. Im going to look a little funny at LA Fitness tonight. :D

You will stall a little while starting up running. Eventually your legs will adjust, your running will become more efficient and you'll start losing weight.

Ironically, a beginning runner uses more calories running that a world class runner.

No, i dont know what im doing.

My workout partner didnt show up today. So here i am with my g/f trying to get this damn thing on in the middle of LA Fitness. She couldnt push the sleeves up my arms far enough. The damn thing was VERY tight. My arms fell asleep fast. I dont think i had it all the way on. There was a gap between the shirt and my chest.
I tried 275lbs just to see what i felt like. I couldnt get the bar aware near my chest. I was at least 6 inches away. I have those marks all over the back of my arms and the bottom of my bicep in front and didnt even go all the way down with only 275. :o

I need some help with it thats for sure. :(

sounds like it fits good :D

I'm not the best at describing things but I'll try to do this. First turn the shirt inside out, sleeves included. Get the sleeves pulled up just above the elbow (backwards of course, so when you pull the shirt over your head it will be facing the right way) and then hold your arms above your head while your partner pulls the shirt down and you "swim" into it. The ends of the sleeves are probably curled under, so have them dig those out. Then get your partner behind you. Raise your arm straight up so there is a fold of material to grab on top of your shoulder, have them grab it, then pull your arm forward like you are fighting to get away from them. This will get the shoulders back. Then have them stand in front of you. Cross your arms and lean forward and have them jack the front of the shirt as far down on your chest as they can. Then lean back, fighting against them, to get the shirt even further down. Before you bench, do this again, but put a belt on to hold the shirt in place.

The idea is to get the chest plate as low as possible while still covering your armpit crease (by apf rules). Getting the chest plate low will allow you to bring the bar down lower on your belly, decreasing the range of motion. If this didn't make any sense then I can wiggle into my shirt and take a couple pics that will clear everything I've said up.

As far as this goes, with lighter weight you have to work your way out of the groove of the shirt to get it to touch. So when it stops coming down, start pulling it down with your lats as you move the bar farther down your stomach. As you come out of the groove it will move closer towards you.

The only time a shirt is too small is if it takes more weight to touch than you can press. Everything you've mentioned, circulation in your arms cut off, the sleeves biting you, is all normal. You need to get the chest plate on your chest though so the sleeves have to come back farther or you've got to pull the shirt lower.

you couldn't be more right. Those are the two most important muscle groups to a shirted bench.

here's a few pics that go along with my shitty instructions. it's a little different because the back of mine is cut but whatever.
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b68/iluvyourmom04/shirt001.jpg
that's about as high as you want to get the sleeves up before you pull the shirt over your head. (you can see the crease of my elbow, it's about an inch higher.) Also do a duckbill with your hand like that, it will help get the sleeve over your forearm. I'm not sure where the stitching is on the Rage, but the F6 is "stitches down" so make sure you line up the stitches on your arm as you pull the sleeve on. after it's on it's not going to rotate without taking the shirt off.
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b68/iluvyourmom04/shirt002.jpg
that's to show how high you need the sleeves. Your elbow can't be covered, but you want to keep it as low as possible on your arm so you can bring the chest plate down.
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b68/iluvyourmom04/shirt003.jpg
the flash fucked this all up but I was getting a picture of how low you want the neckline. You won't be able to get it that low with a closed back, but if you cut the back you're not going to get a warranty so it's up to you. Bringing the neckline way down moves the chest plate right under your pecs, so when you bench the bar travels to the top of your belly. If you are still benching with a flat back, start learning to arch with your feet underneath you, as this will decrease the range of motion, allow you to use more leg drive, and also tilt the sleeves on the shirt upward, so you'll get more carryover.

They never allowed shirts of that magnitude in highschool. I always wanted to try one though. I could always touch my chest with much less than 200. And my powerlifting press was never as much as my raw ORM. You have so many elements to consider. Keep in mind there will be a pause that will negate alot of the gains you receive from a shirt. Well im my case it did.

For putting it on...It's easier to just roll it up like a rubber, then "swim" through the sleeves. It gets really simple once you're use to it.

it takes a while to get those things on properly. you have to get as many of the wrinkles out as you can or you will end up with all the bruises you are talking about. the shirt probably is not to small for you just new. needs to be used and loosened up a little. if you have to practically pull the bar down to your chest then the shirt is the right size. just makes sure that you get it put on all the way and as many wrinkles out as possible.

I dont know man, maybe the shirt was labled wrong. He was laughing when we had it on saying it wasnt on all the way and that it didnt fit. then i tried to bench, he was pushing down hard on the bar with 315 on the there and the bar wasnt coming close. It tore up my chest, shoulders, and arms bad.
