Hell, most UFC fighters can't fight a good pride fighter for conditioning alone, considering the first round alone is 10 minutes. And for those saying Shogun is only good on the ground, he beat Rampage standing in the corner.Jackson hits hard and there were several punches Shogun absorbed on the way in to the clinch. That's the kind of guy who can beat a striker, even standing. UFC is really not representative of all MMA in the world, because they are bringing select people from around the world. For Spike and UFC, it's still about the money, not only true promotion of the sport. There are peole all over the country that have been involved in MMA, full contact, judo, ju jistsu, (whatever you like) since they were 5 or 6 years old. I'm not a huge chuck fan but i wouldnt count him out,ive seen him get dropped a few times but he recovers quickly.I saw a really early fight of his vale tudo i think it even w as on this sight.Chuck has got better but he will def have his hands full.Some one i think whos really pumped up is Jackson. haha LIGHT strikes while rolling can be fun,and mma geared bjj is alot diff than just rolling.ITs kinda weird had BJJ has alot of strikes and pioneered mma and alot of subs could use some "softening" techniques that you cant use when you roll.lol now it some what deviated from that just to subs etc

Oh I hear ya. Too many guys take they're training WAY too lightly. Seem to treat it as if it's a yoga workout or something. From day 1, I've always taken notes in order to constantly refine my training. But then again, perhaps they think I take it too seriously. To me, it's not work, it's fun.

Our place will be open on the first. The whole garage thing started when we left our last place. The owner was a huge tool and was only in it for the money. He would not bring in trainers or spend a dime to fix the place up. The mats he was/still is using belong to my friend. We all got sick of him and decided to start working out on our friends house. We're not building some crazy huge state of the art place or anything, It's a small 1100 sq ft place. The owner himself fights so he's trying to spend his money on the trainers and not rent on a building for now. So far he has an eight year judo black belt, a state champ wrastler, One of the best boxing coaches I've ever seen. I was told he found a muay thai coach the other day, I just dont have any info on him yet.

Don't get all squeaky voiced on me now. I just want to clear the air on the fact that both are not only dangerous, but effective too. If you really want to take it to the ground, you can make it happen quick. I prefer the ground to most, but there's special circumstances that I'd just rather have my feet take care of.

Shogun is my favorite fighter and hope he fights Chuck this fall. He will take the 205 title from Chuck and move up to heavyweight someday. He will one day challenge Fedor, just not ready yet. He is only around 10 lbs lighter than Fedor. He man handled Arona who is really a cut down heavyweight. I would love to also see Shogun fight Cro Cop and take him down to the ground.

PRIDE does have a better selection of figthers so it's easy to say that PRIDE is superior to the UFC, but Shogun is good at a lot of things. Shoguns only downfall to fighting Liddell (Who is ranked as the #1 205 lber in the WORLD, NOT SHOGUN!) is that Shogun cant stomp or kick a downed fighter and Shogun will pretty much have to stand with Liddell because Liddells so good against the takedown. Shogun may attempt to stand with Liddell to prove something but I promise you that if he attempts that, he will get KO'd early.

I think Shogun would beat Chuck under PRIDE rules, and Chuck would defeat Shogun in UFC rules. I heard a rumor that Shoguns supposed to sign a 2 fight deal with the UFC here real soon. And whoever said that Liddell hasnt beaten anyone good????
