Based on searching the net and reading a few published articles, it appears as though rebuilding a bad laptop battery might be near impossible and I cant find a source for replacement cells. Are they really that dangerous?
And before someone suggests just buying a new one..umm...why dont you try and find me a new battery for a Gateway Solo 3150. Nobody carries them.

theres a battery place on central in richardson. i dont remember the name of it, but its like 2 or 3 letters i think. Its on the Southbound side of the highway, on the street where the old Panchos used to be. In between Beltline and Spring Valley. Could almost guarantee they will have it or can order it.

BatteryRefill.com. Send them your old battery and they will fix for you. I had the same issue with a couple of Sony Viaos. They did good work.

A coworker of mine sent in the battery of a Solo 3150 I sold him and had it rebuilt and while the battery did work well when he got it back, it was very poorly put back together with some type of silicone and it fell apart very quickly...I already know about BatteryRefill.com but thanks for the suggestion. Based on my coworkers experience with them on the exact same battery I think I am going to hold out and hope for something better.
