Happened in Jan. I had surgery 3 weeks ago, had a fusion done. I seem to be doing pretty well, really hasn't been a bad experience, besides not lifting. More then likely I did it during squats in my younger days putting the bar too high on my neck.
I bought a little weight set with 130lbs worth of 10lb plates, I’m doing everything dumbbells, military, fly's, bench, etc. I bought a adjustable bench for 40 bucks from Wal-Mart, it can adjust to incline, flat, decline and military. I miss the gym but this will do for now until I get my strength back in my left arm.
The ruptured disc pinched a nerve that ran down my arm so I lost 90% strength in my arm.
Just a little back ground on me, before this mess I was 210, I could hit sets of 10 with 225lb on bench and do 80lb dumbbells on military. Now im 190lb and struggle with 35lb dumbbells on military. Its amazing what a pinched nerve can do.
With the amount of weights I bought I can work back up to 65lb dumbbells which will do for now. I still have a long road ahead of me, I just figured I would share my experience with ya'll. God bless and good lifting..
