I was hoping maybe some of you computer guys could tell me what the cheapest video card is, that can run World Of Warcraft at maximum video settings. I have an AGP motherboard, and my current video card is a crummy old GE Force FX5100 (or 5300 or what ever that damn number is.) My computer is 4 years old, and my processor speed is only like 1.5GHZ. I know, I know, I know. Its just that some stupid theif got into my house and relieved me of my up to date computer. And I will just have to play this one until i can afford a better one. But I can afford a better video card NOW. And i was hoping that scince WOW is an older game, I just might be able to get a video card that can run it at max, for a decent price.
Any suggestions?

WoW might be a couple of years old but its graphics engine will still push any video card out today. You need more proc power, and a video card tbqh.

would not be worth running at max if your CPU is not going to handle it

Wow doesn't need shit :D
The graphics while colorful still suck. I'm comparing this to EQII, though I hate that game.

The card is yes, by a long, long, long shot.
Now your CPU is going to be the bottleneck.

Ok sorry guys things just changed one more time. I now have a new system that has a 3.3GHZ processor and 1024MB of RAM. My new system is an AcerPower S285. While it sucks compared to all yall's im sure, it doesnt bother me cause all i want it to do is run WoW at its utter maximum. Could you guys possibly tell me if this system will run the card that i mentioned earlier? Cause im not even sure if he mother board is AGP, PCI, or whatever. and im damn ignorant. so i was hoping one of you might look it up for me. :o

Yes, your new rig has one 8x AGP slot and will run the 7600. Just disable onboard video in the bios.

yeah, i've thought about doing this. but i already have 1 gig, and the only game i play is WoW. with the 7600GS, do you think another gig would help? or would it just kinda be uneeded?
also, given the new system imentioned before, (the AcerPower S285) is the PNY GeForce 7600GS 512MB AGP the biggest baddest videocard that the motherboard can run? My power supply is only 300 watts.

Your processor is a IBM Celeron 3.3Ghz. AMD doesn't make a 3.3Ghz.

ok sry. as i said im damn ignorant when it comes to this stuff. i should know a lot more than i do. but, uh... what do you think this card would do on a 1.8 Ghz processor? i mean, in the specs it says it only requires 700mghz. so you would think that even a 1.1 ghz would be more than enough, right?

The specs are pretty much for you can run the game without crashing. I even crash with all my shit I have. WOW takes up a lot of space. If you have an 8x AGP slot, then just go to newegg and look up the ATI and GeForce video cards. I have the 7800 GS 256MB and I run all the video games out right now around 150 FPS.
All and all you need ram, and a better video card.

Just a reminder, make sure you have enough psu to run everything. But I dont know anybody these days that doesnt change that out or at least upgrade when having them built.

I would seriously be concerned about your power supply. 300watt OEM just isn't going to cut it. It might make 300watt but under the very best benchtop conditions. As for as your Celeron 3.3Ghz it will most like be the bottleneck with the new card. Which 1.8Ghz are you talking about? A Pentium4 1.8Ghz won't perform that great but a 1.86Ghz E6300 Core 2 Duo will kick ass.

I'm running wow on a Athlon 2800 with 1gb ram and a 6600GT and get about 50-60fps but with some detail turned down at 1440x900.
