They are going to finish season 11, and sci fi is not going to continue funding it. I'm hoping Showtime, or some other station will pick it back up, I dont want to see it end :( Atlantis will still get air time.
Anyway, they are coming out with a direct to dvd movie that will end the Ori story ark, should be out next year I think.

Agreed. Just not digging the Ori at all. I wish the whole replicator fight would have lasted longer.
SG1- Atlantis rocks though. To bad the season doesn't start for another month I think :(

Never saw it, but I do dig Atlantis, though I will say I almost didnt continue watching it after the first 3 or 4, thought it was terrible but now I cant stop.

So, there's going to be a movie made from a TV series that was originally a spin off of a movie? Genius!

There has only been 10 seasons of episodes.
I couldn't wait for them to air on Sci-Fi, so I have already downloaded and watched the remaining episodes of Season 10 (They have already aired in Canaduh and the UK).
It pisses me off that Sci-Fi Channel cancelled this show, I would have to say this season has had some of the best episodes since the first few seasons.

I'm not happy about them canceling. I have 9 seasons on dvd of SG1 and 2 of the Atlantis.....why are they ending a good thing? I guess it's best to go out on top

Yup, I downloaded the rest of the next season already. I watched Atlantis over the course of a couple of days, haven't gotten around to SG-1 though. Wish BSG had already been filmed and viewed over in the UK so I could download it already :(

Yeah, Atlantis this season was pretty damn good too. I wasn't really into the first season, guess I need to go back and rewatch it.
There are at least 2 upcoming SG1 movies, one is going to wrap up the Ori story line and the other is supposed to have a time travel story line. Hopefully they do well so they keep on making them.

Where should one start with this series? I'm assuming, the original movie, but how should my viewing progress from there? Seems as if there are several movies/series in this franchise. Looking to mow my Netflix queue down a bit.

depends on how involved you want to get into it, personally, i ahve seen every episode of the series and thought it rocked. but you really can not watch just the last two movies and get it. i would netflix the hole series.

Just started watching this series -- at times it's kinda corny and extremely far-fetched, but I like how they incorporate a lot of ancient civilizations into the show. When does a true story-line start forming? As of right now, it's basically just a different mission every day with the only true story line of Jackson and O'Neil trying to find Sha're and Skaara barely even being mentioned...
Stargate Universe premieres this Friday. I'll start DVRing that show and begin watching once I've burned through SG-1, Atlantis and the two SG-1 spin-off movies.

Didn't realize Stargate Universe was already coming out (thought it would be in a month or so). Hell I can't remember the last time I watched anything on Sci-Fi or whatever it's called now.
