Secretary at the office accidently got some spyware downloaded on the computer. It was the SpyDawn virus. I got 99% of it removed. Problem I have is there's a little flashing warning sign in the bottom screen corner.
Clicking the icon takes me to the SpyDawn "Main" page. All it's doing is flashing in the corner and then pops up a "warning" message above the icon.
My virus and spyware doesnt seem to be picking it up. I did locate, I think, the file for it on my computer through the Add/Remove feature. It's titled "System Alert Pop up". Thing is when I click the remove button, nothing happens. No flash, no hang on, no pause. Everything remains.
Any ideas on what I can do? Im not the smartest when it comes to computers.
Thanks

you my try running Spybot S&D
from my experience you need to run 2-3 spyware progs to fully clean everything out. some just dont get everything.
ive been using my spyware progs on auto scan every week for about 3 years now. some of the newer progs may be much more thorough though. *shrug

Go to trendmicro.com and run the housecall scanner. It will more than likely find what's left and remove it and it's a free tool. ;)

I GOT THAT DAMN THING. You have not removed the virus untill that program is out. Linky (http://www.dfwstangs.net/forums/showthread.php?t=315777)
There are three files open that are the SPYdawn BS. When you close one, the other program opens it back up. They start with a "i" like "ish" "isb"(without quotes of course). Remember the files, because you need to locate them on your HD.
Startup in safe mode, locate, and delete that entire folder.

I did that and everything I came up with wanted me to download a program. So I did and then in order to remove it I had to pay for it. I downloaded Ad-Adware and that got rid of a bunch of it except this last little part. :o

Have you tried the trendmicro suggestion yet? That program finds and removes a lot of crap that the others miss. Kind of slow though (especially when you tell it to remove what it found, takes a very long time), but it's free.
