This is comical the party that claims to be the Moral Majority is such a joke. I admit the left is all kinds of screwed up but dam. The right seems to have just as many teen boy humping queers and cheaters as the left. Seems ole Newt Gingrich was getting his geek on when the Clinton scandal was going on. I saw it on AOL but my puter here at work won't access the story. More to come later :D
"Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich acknowledged he was having an extramarital affair even as he led the charge against President Clinton over the Monica Lewinsky affair, he acknowledged in an interview with a conservative Christian group. "

NOt really but it is quite the turn around since a few years ago when the right was essentially untouchable!

Personally I think that book that was written where Bush and friends laughed at them and called them clowns behind their backs is probably spot on. I mean, really, who can take the really extreme fuckers, right or left, seriously? Those people are fuckin crazy.

Not surprised in the least.
It takes a certain kind of ego to be driven to "lead" a political party, and the wake left behind by people like that usually isn't pretty.
Newt, Clinton, Koresh, Jim Jones, etc. Anyone on a power trip is doing this shit, whether you know about it or not.

interesting topic.
what i find really disturbing and ironic about congressman mark foley is that he was once the chairman of the house caucus on missing and exploited children.
and this guy is a sick and twisted bastard. in one of his emails he offered a 17 male page a chance to stay in his home in exchange for oral sex. and another that requested a picture of "his erect penis".
it's just mind numbing to realize that a republican congressman that was chairman of the house caucus on missing and exploited children is in reality every parents worse nightmare.
the republican party has no business talking about a "moral majority". that is a catch phrase, a campaign slogan, sales advertisement.
both the democrats and republicans should omit "moral majority" or moral anything from any campaign speeches, and just substitute it with we'll try to do better and hope for the best.

It's not a party issue. Many have been corrupted by the money, power, and temptations available in DC.
There are crappy people on both sides of the aisle regardless of what they claim to stand for.

It's too bad Foley didn't have sex with one of his interns in his office, then you and your liberal Democratic friends would have had to defend him like you did Clinton, right? You sure wouldn't want it to appear like you only defend that kind of behavior when it is your party doing it, right?
You sure couldn't attack him for having sex with male interns since your party thinks homosexual behavior should be taught in schools as normal behavior equivalent to heterosexual behavior, right?

i'm going to stop responding to your post if you continue to ignore what i have repeatedly said since day 1.
i'm going to say this one last time for the record.
i voted for bill clinton and was an ardent supporter and i felt that he was a good president, especially dealing with domestic affairs such as balancing the budget, very strong economy in his later term, brady bill, AWB, improvement environmental policies, etc...
however, i was very disappointed when i found out he lied under oath during the starr investigation. it really had a profound effect on me because i've always been absorbed with the subject of politics. i felt like he let me down, damaged his credibility, and put a permanent stain on his presidency.
i didn't think that it was anybody's business what he does behind close doors with another women. that is his business and i could care less who he is fucking. that's not relevant to anything in my opinion. people's personal drama is something i could care less about. i thought the whole thing was a sham.
however, i was angry with him for not being honest and forthright about the affair from day 1 of the investigation. it was fool hearty for him to lie about it under oath and it was wrong.
i'm a different kind of cat that you are going to see in this political forum. i will freely admit my candidates mistakes and criticize those mistakes without any immature denial of said mistakes.

You freely admit your candidates mistakes? Yeah, saying what a great President he was while saying that having sex with an intern was none of our business and playing it like he was just having a little old affair. That is typical liberal logic. You will never learn.
He wasn't behind closed doors, he was at his desk in the oval office. He was having sex with a subordinate. I have no clue what you do for a living, but if you work for a company, go in and ask your supervisor if you can have sex with a subordinate at your desk and see what he/she says.
How convenient that you forget we had a terrible rescession that started in '89 because of the collapse of the internet companies and companies like Enron were putting up false numbers. How soon you forget. Maybe those rose colored liberal glasses have you so blinded you can't see the obvious, or you are too biased to see it. I bet the former, especially being the straight ticket Democratic liberal that you are.
I am not even going to go into your poor sentences, poor punctuation, and poor grammar.

do you realize that you just posted extremely false information?
a recession in 1989 is something to be blamed on president george bush sr. or ronald reagan, not bill clinton.
if you are referring to 1999 then you just demonstrated how out of touch you are with the economic situation at the time. the job market and economy was at it's strongest point towards the end of the 90s under the clinton administration. to say it was strong would almost be an understatement.
i'm in the IT industry and i hate to be the one to break this to you, but the .com bust happened after march 2000 for a variety of reasons. once being u.s. vs. microsoft monopoly case, excess business spending in prepartation for y2k, a market correction, poor internet sales results, etc.
those are the real reasons for the .com bubble bust, so put your clinton card back in the drawer it's not working for you.
in regards to bill clinton and the economy. ever heard of the term goldilocks economy?
yea...that's what it was during the last term of bill clinton.
In the last year or two, the U.S. economy has been called the "Goldilocks economy" because it has been rolling along "just right, not too hot and not too cold," with both unemployment and inflation at the lowest levels in thirty years and a booming stock market. Business Week has even proclaimed, in a series of prize-winning special issues, that the U.S. economy has entered a "new era" in which rapid technological change (especially information technology) will make it possible for the U.S. economy to continue to achieve both low unemployment and low inflation for the foreseeable future.
AND
" Still, Americans ended the 1990s with a restored sense of confidence. By the end of 1999, the economy had grown continuously since March 1991, the longest peacetime economic expansion in history. Unemployment totaled just 4.1 percent of the labor force in November 1999, the lowest rate in nearly 30 years. And consumer prices, which rose just 1.6 percent in 1998 (the smallest increase except for one year since 1964), climbed only somewhat faster in 1999 (2.4 percent through October). Many challenges lay ahead, but the nation had weathered the 20th century -- and the enormous changes it brought -- in good shape." http://usinfo.state.gov/products/pubs/oecon/chap3.htm

You must be delusional to blame Bush for the economy going down in early 2000. Yeah, the economy just raises and lowers in a matter of days. It didn't start in '99 and then bottom out in 2000, no, Bush killed it in his first few months, you know, before he got any legislation or policy in place.
The .com bust was because of all the faulty accounting and superficial elevation all those atart up companies pulled in the 90's. It came crashing down in the '00's.
BTW, there have been 2 all time highs in the last year for the DOW, does that mean Bush is better than Clinton when it comes to the economy? I painted my brother into that corner when I told him that if unemployment went down and the DOW hit a new high before Bush left office that he had to admit that Bush's economic policies were better than the tax and spend budget surplusses by Clinton. He reluctantly did so at Christmas. My straight ticket Demcratic bleeding heart brother has seen the light, can you? Yeah, he still hates Bush like you do, but he was man enough to admit he was wrong about Bush's economic policies.
those are the real reasons for the .com bubble bust, so put your clinton card back in the drawer it's not working for you.

I made a lot of money with my investments in the mid 90's, lost alot of it in '99 and 2000 (recession is what Money magazine called it back then), and now I have gotten it all back. Even this correction lately hasn't taken it all away.

you have proven that you are no a hard right winger?
huh...you could have fooled me.
and where is my hypocrisy?
you mean the part where you keep saying that i don't think president clinton was wrong about his indiscretions in the white house? or the 20 or so posts i have all over the political forum where i admitted he was wrong and damaged his presidency?

You have no idea what a hard right winger is if you think I am one.
I know what a liberal is, and you are one. You are a hypocrite for denying it and still posting all the ideas and thoughts of one. Yeah, if you hate Bush, you are a liberal. I can disagree with him and still be conservative, but if you hate him, you are a liberal.
So far, not one decent moderate person I have ever seen post here or anywhere else has ever said they hate Bush. I have seen quite a few that disagree with him, but never go so far as to say they hate him.
Like I have said before, you have been on the far left websites for so long, your "moderate" stance is so far left you are a liberal left wing crazy.

i strongly dislike president bush and i disagree with his policies, so i guess by your definition i'm a liberal.
maybe i am, but i'm probably the only liberal that you will ever meet that would favor the dismantling of the aclu and have zero tolerance for illegal immigration.
i rarely ever use the word hate...even when talking about people i can't stand.

This is why we find you pretty stupid for voting straight ticket Democrat. Your vote will go for candidates that support the ACLU and open borders. There have been so many issues you proclaim to be for or against that disagree with Democratic ideals.
This is why you will always be a whipping boy on this site.

lol.,i'm not anybody's whipping boy..only in your imagination. and i have already stated more than once that i won't be voting straight ticket in '08.
this site is something to do to pass the time while working. things that are typed on on a message board don't have any meaning at the end of the day when you go home to your wife and family at the end of the day.
i think you have mistaken me for some that i have seen on this website that take it seriously enough to contemplate suicide or want to meet up and fight in a parking lot.
having self-esteem keeps helps you to avoid certain pitfalls like having strangers on the internet hurt your feelings or any of that nonsense.

I will gladly say "you're welcome" for convincing you how stupid your straight ticket voting was. Congrats on seeing the light.

Your vote will go (for) open borders.
I have to say, I'm all for open borders, my houseboy, Renardo, has been missing in action ( I just love to say ACTION, mmm :p ) since the last nasty immigration round up at the packing plant.
whipping boy
yeah, see above remarks, my toolbox hasn't been the same since Renny was bussed back to Venezuela.
