Finally, it's been a long 4 days. Lakers have lost 5 straight - last 4 have been on the road. Since I'm betting they're glad to be back home, I bet L.A. puts up a great fight tonight. And even though L.A. usually has Dallas' number on their homecourt, I think we'll win tonight. I think it'll be a close game and say Mavs by 3.

Spurs still streaking too...win streak up to 12. That makes things a lot more interesting now. Top 4 teams are the Mavs, Suns, Spurs, and Jazz. Everyone else are just pretenders.

Lake Show has no chance. They are shooting 30% for the game and Mavs lead at the half 59-35. Since I've gotta get up at 4am for work, I might actually go to bed since I think the game is in check. A lot can happen, but a short-handed Lakers team shouldn't put up much of a fight.

I wouldn't say that nobody stands a chance as Phoenix is a very good team and is only 5 games back from the Mavs. When/if they meet in the playoffs, it should be a great series.

Yeah, but look at what we've done to them during regular season. I honestly don't think Phoenix stands a chance in a series against the Mavs. For that matter, there isn't a team out there this year that I believe stands a chance agains them in a series.

Hopefully we won't have to dance with Phoenix. As it stands now, Phoenix and San Antonio are going to get a chance to beat up each other in the 2nd round assuming they each win their 1st round series. I'd love to take on S.A. in the WCF, although I doubt it could be nowhere near as compelling as the series they played last year. That had to be the all-time greatest series in Mavs history. The Phoenix series to get to the finals didn't even come close.

I agree, in that regular seasons don't matter when you come out and lose the first round of playoffs. This is the best regular season in franchise history. Look at what they are doing during games this year, that they didn't do last year. Regular season, post season. Doesn't matter. Last year they weren't closing games. This year, they are closing games better than anyone else in the league.

doesnt matter if the spurs didnt close out last year cause either did the mavs. avery has made the team ruthless (ie. 36 point beatdowns and never letting up). i just hope we finish the year like we are playing now.

That's the main difference this year, that will result in a championship. They aren't doing what they've done in the past this year. They aren't blowing big leads, letting up, and losing games they should have won. They are closing the deal, which has been a problem in the past.

There's something to be said for a team that can beat down the Lakers, throw in the third stringers, and increase the lead enough to put the most embarassing beat down on a team in their franchise history. The Mavs past is haunted with being unable to close deals. This year, it hasn't been an issue in the slightest.

Nope. I think they are going to win it all, because I know why we fell short the last few years. Hell, who doesn't know why we fell short? Not because of their regular season. But, you can't tell me the regular season doesn't carry momentum in to the playoffs.

We've always fallen short, because they let up, blow big leads, and start playing like they are going to win so it won't matter if they fuck up. The additions we brought on in the offseason, as well as the bittersweet taste of the failed championship attempt last year has driven every player on the team. They won't accept anything less than a ring this year. They aren't making those mistakes anymore. True, it's still regular season right now. But if they aren't making those mistakes now, chances are they won't make them in the post season either. In the past, they made those mistakes whether it was regular season or game 7 in a tied series for the championship.
