I was talking to a buddy of mine and I told him I remember seeing this program for Windows you install that makes your desktop look like a Mac. Maybe not exact look, but the same feel and look of the program boxes at the bottom, etc... anyone know what this program is called and where to get it?

Everything is pretty much spelled out here.

However ObjectDock is a resource hog.

BTW, nothing beats the real deal. I'm typing this from my Core2Duo MacBook Pro. OS X rules :)

Pretty much a one stop shop of all the mods needed to do the conversion, all bundled into a nice installer.

I had it going for a while, but like Sgt Beavis said, Object Dock is a hog... and without it, the rest of the conversion is pretty pointless, so I eventually just switched it back.

Yep, that is exactly what happened with me too.

It is one of the small reasons I switched over to Macs.

Still waiting on Leopard before I make my switch :) But it's a definite go.

Cool deal. I just hope it gets here at the end of March....

However you might want to think about that. Most of the CompUSAs in DFW are going out of business and have started their liquidation sales. You might be able to get a Mac cheaper than ever before....

Of course, I don't know how much Leopard will cost, but if history is an example, it will be significantly less than Vista Ultimate. Unlike Microsoft, Apple throws everything into one version of the OS instead of trying to up sell you.

yeah, I was going to hit up compusa today and check them out. I see they're doing about $200 off the 17" iMac's. If they'll do that, or better, for the 24" I might just go for it. I don't imagine Leopard will be more than $200. I wouldn't think it'd be much more, if any, than previous versions at $130.

Isn't this pretty much what you buy Vista for?
