I'll end up seeing Astronaut Farmer, but most likely on DVD.

it looks like a far far distant sequel to the armegeddon storyline. the one where billy bob played the nasa guy that never got to go into space and at the end of the movie bruce willis gave him his patch.

thats what it reminds me of anyway.

Woo cool. Oceans 13. I dont think I've heard about that one either. Or may be I forgot. :)

I'm behind on movies. :( I'd like a weekly thing.. I've got a lot of catching up to do!

Forrest Gump II? Is that supposed to be some kind of insult? Forrest Gump is one of the highest grossing films of all time ($657 Million). Nominated for 13 Academy Awards, winner of 6, including best picture.

It's about a battle in which 300 Spartan warriors held their own against anywhere from 1500-1,000,000 greek Persian forces (the legend has stretched it, historians place it at about 15,000 Persians, still amazing that 300 hel off 15k).

It looks like an amazing story about an amazing legend.

Actually, the numbers are more like 6000 vs. 300,000 or more. The number "300" is only famous because that was the number of Greek warriors actually from Sparta. But they had additional Greeks from other city-states, mostly Thespians and Phocians. The Persians also had to wade through a defense force before them which numbered about 1,000 of mostly volunteer units.

Historians of the time estimated about 2.5million combat troops in the region and double that for support. Most historians place it at or over 300,000 facing Persian troops. There are a few people who used to believe it couldn't have been more than 250,000 troops due to a lack of ground water support but that has been disproven. Some argue the number could have been closer to 1.8million combat troops including many contemporaries.
