Just wondering how many credit card racers we have here. I used to be one but now wait until I have money in hand. Waiting sucks :(

I don't use credit cards for mods. If shit unexpectedly blows up, I might put something on one temporarily.

My car is almost entirely funded by my side business so no websites no mods  . I don't hit the CC for anything especially mods.

BTW...I need mods.

Learned when I was 18 not to do the CC thing. You never stop needing bigger and badder go fast parts so you never get your debt paid off. All cash now even on the trailer. Thats why it takes 2-3 years every time I change things up.

Cash and carry on all parts... I could get better prices online but I like seeing the parts before I pay...

I wait for my birthday and XMAS to upgrade my mods (if needed - lists are pretty long:D )...otherwise, I barter/trade sidework for parts or outright get paid for my knowledge, skill, and speed...there are few that still owe me favors

I still fill out tech cards with Mastercard/Visa, stripper girlfriends/Hooters girlfriends or bank i just robbed next to the "Who is your sponsor?" question:D

i'm too stringent with my money.

even if I have the money for mods, I don't spend it.

actually that's because i have a slow car.

I buy all used parts and pay cash or trade for existing stuff. The cash used is usually made off of side work, or racing itself. I have been running in local index races here for a couple years now and the money I win typically pays for my entry fees and a new set of tires each year. The last two races of the season netted me a nice chunk of change, enough to pay for the entire year of racing LOL.

cash, I never use the cc for car stuff. Although here in the last 2 years any money I spend on the car has come form selling car parts that I have accumulated. Although I've been so broke lately nothing is getting done ;)

I use to use my cc but, that was getting me in trouble. Now I just use any bonus I can squeeze out of the Marine corps. The 10K they just gave me is going to put a Procharger on the car. :D

I am very surprised at the responsibility that I see here with ya'lls spending. I kind of figured that the CC spending would be a lot more than the votes show. Good to know that i'm not the only person sitting around waiting for money to appear to do the next mod.

I did the credit card thing way back when, and I still haven't got out of debt from it. Now, I've completely rebuilt my car from the ground up with side work as the only funding. The problem now is, I have so much side work - I don't get to work on my car :(

I love it though, It's not a bad gig.

New dart block 331, Lentech AOD, a "big" turbo, New paint, new wheels, new interior, new electronics.... It just took a couple of years to get it there (and a bunch of turbo kits!)

I buy off the internet mostly and that usually requires the use of a credit card. I have found several companies out there on the www that sell way below the Summit and JEGS type companies. I bought my block, heads, crank, rods and pistons off ebay and saved several hundreds of dollars. All new stuff too. All the other stuff I get thru local contacts.

cash only. and mainly i spend the year getting ready for my tax return, its not much but it gives me enough money for half the years worth of parts in my cheap project.

learned the hard way , now its cash. Sad thing all that stuff I bought when i was younger was just shit. I have spent way more now using cash though. But doing it the right way and making it safe to be able to have fun for awhile
