THE official press release from Chris Cornell:

Due to irresolvable personality conflicts as well as musical differences, I am permanently leaving the band Audioslave. I wish the other three members nothing but the best in all of their future endeavors.


I've always been a Soundgarden, RATM, AND Audioslave fan...this kinda sucks

Tom Morello has a side project, and an upcoming solo album as well...I kinda think this is why he and Cornell butted heads

Just because of the political take mainly...Cornell from the git go never wanted to make a politically minded album, then Revelations comes out last fall and whaddayaknow...that, and playing in Cuba last summer.


I'll DEFINITELY agree with you on keeping my fingers crossed for a (hopefully) future RATM album to return to the airwaves;)

RATM is my undisputed all-time favorite band since they were the first real band I got into. Back in middle school I even used to buy Rage shirts in Mexico and bring them back to sell to friends here :D. I had tickets to see them with the beastie boys but that's when they cancelled/split up :(

Anyone with any clue at all about good music knows this statement is total BS.

Morello is a groundbreeaking guitarist. He just doens't mesh well with Cornell.

Either way, RATM needs to bring us all some hope and passion about their music again.

Tom Morello will butt heads with anybody in that band who has even a slightly different opinion as his.

Audioslave? Heard one song by them and thought it was horrible.

Rage? They were good for their time, let's just say that.
