View Full Version : Where to buy enclosed trailor for a good price?

I figured with all the racers in this forum someone might know where to get a 24 footer or so for a decent price. I am open to a used one as well if anyone knows someone selling theirs. I know there is a place in the northwest selling new 24ft ones for 4,995 but I don't want to drive 2,000 miles to get one. Any locals or places just across our northern border that sell them for less then the big name's around DFW? Any leads would be appreciated.

Drive towards Texarkana on 30. That must be the trailer manufacturing capital...trailer builders everywhere.

$4,995.00 is an unreal price. What brand is it?

I have a 24' Cargo Mate that is black with aluminum trim that I was thinking of selling.
Its 2-1/2 years old and has always been stored under an overhang. It cost $9,200.00 new and I was thinking of asking $7,000.00. I made about 5 trips in it so everything is still looking good. I haven't been to where it's stored for about a year so I would imagine it's pretty dirty.

The one for $4,995 is a Pace and was advertised in the Racepages magazine. The website had something like aol.hometowntrailors.com or something like that in it. I trashed the magazine so I don't have it but I wasn't going to drive to Michigan or where ever they where located anyways. I am sure it is with the smaller 3,300# axles as well though. The big name trailor companies around here like Big Tex and Cargo just want way to much. I was told you are paying for the name with those guy's. I was given a lead out in west TX and also I am going to try OK trailor sales in Durant OK where I bought my 16 foot one from for $800 slightly used.

Thanks for the lead Mustang87 I might give him a call. Thats not a bad deal at all considering it has the AC unit and a generator.

I had the pace one with the smaller axels. It was a good trailer for around town hauling but I wouldnt go to far off in it. After a couple of years of around town driving the springs were real week. I would invest in the better axles if you go with pace. They are a good trailer.

I am trying to find info on Danny Chesep with Chesep plastic design in Grand Praire or something like that. I was told he was the least expeinsive around but I can't find a number to him.

Bill from TX trailer man has the best prices I have found so far for a new one. More then I want to spend but without making a 16 hour 1000 mile each way trip to GA or IN my options seem limited.

I am going to check out a used one tomorrow with a few goodies in it.

Danny Cessup is the name, he's a sponsor on TTT5. I think the business is cessups trailors or something like that. He ran True Street with the midnight blue/white stripes 68 camaro..

Problem is I have a high mileage 5.4liter F-250 that I don't want to risk breaking down on that trip. Thats a long way back for a gas engine to pull a tralier. Anyone want to loan me their diesel truck for a day and make $500?? :(

I have to go to South Dakota here pretty soon to pick up a car. If you find anything up that way let me know and I will pic it up for you. But, ofcoarse my car will need to ride in it on the way back. ;)

when are you wanting to go?

a warranty and road side assistance.

Thats a good thing to have right there! :D

I'm supposed to check out the trailer from Keith Craft tomorrow and depending on if I get it or not will determine if I look for one outside of TX. I also have to factor in gas, some extra change for someone else using their truck ect..ect.. and see what the saving's are. I still think I could come out a grand or better from buying one here though.

I had another friend offer up his Cummins deisel as well so at least the option is open to going to GA. To bad they don't have one of those $20K outlaw races out there to check out at the same time.
