New best at Ennis.... barely... ;-(

Anyway, had a blast at Ennis today... ran the car only twice, first run I locked the brakes up trying to run down Andrew's Vette... I ran an 11.58 @ 95 sideways through the gates on the brakes. :o This was with a sliding 2.07 60 foot and a 7.5 @ 105 1/8th. I knew it would hook better than that, so I did a better burn out, and hot lapped it.

It slowed down a mph in the 8th with more heat in the engine/blower... :(

1.72 60 foot sliding the hell out of the clutch... shook tires at top of first, hooked second hard, shook tires at top of second, and walked around a SHIT LOAD in third, but I had crisp shifts so stayed in it.
She ran only a 7.07 @ 104 1/8th due to heat, but she back halved like a bitch... 10.71 @ 138.56. :eek: +34 on the back ain't bad in a warm engine... granted it was like 45 degrees out there, but the coolant was over 200 degrees at the top of the second run :(

I would have gotten my 140 trap I think if she had been cooled off, but after the wreck, I was getting a little nervous running on the DRs again. I figured I'd go back next week on the big and littles and try for a deep 10 or 9 instead of beating on it for another tenth or two. Car weighed 3560 with me in it on the 17s...

Yea she runs REAL good... I told Manny the turbos were sooo loud, I couldn't hear his horn... I just went after you guys took off, and locked up pretty good... I kept the lead to about the car it was when I took off... I did better the first race though. :) 40 would have been more fun.

Yea and 60 is a dead spot on my car too... Low boost, off the boost curve... you remember what it did on the dyno... but with all the work Manny and I did with the timing curves, all that power under the curve seemed to help it not lag as much. :o

60 is like 3,500 RPM in third. My blower doesn't spin hard till like 5K, so it has about a 1-2 second delay... I was happy to just not get blown off the road. That Cobra is wicked fast.

Edit: and we trapped almost the same at the track with him not having TWO more people in the car, and I back half about 3-4 more mph... so from a higher roll, she'd be a very good race... he is about 300 lbs heavier and has about 50-75ish rw on me since he was in limp mode... when he gets his tune sorted, he'd blow my doors off, he was on his pump tune for god sakes! :eek:

Matt's car made nice passes...but I will vouch for the brakes locking up, probably due to the extremely low fluid level in the master cylinder (just my casual observation)

Sure thing man, it ran 1.5 60 foots on true pump gas (no Torco tune like now) with the old blower and headers... it was making right at 103 RWHP/63 RWTQ less, and I had factory style rear suspension, now it has road race coil overs...

I think the car could leave HARDER than it used to, but I need my other wrinkle wall DOTs on it, because the coil overs hit the tires too hard and shock the hell out of em. I could go to a softer spring, but then it would handle like shit. :o

I've gone a 1.62 60 foot on motor with this suspension setup on the same 17" ET Streets you have, so I know it is only track prep/warmth, and tire choice... I'm going back as soon as it warms up into the high 50s or so to get some heat in the track...

10.3 @ 140 was his best on his first pass, it was up and down from there with him working on the two step and tune...but never quicker/faster. The spark table was wigging out, was running in limp mode (spark table 2) for some damn reason... he'll get it squared away. :)

yes it was running high 6s, I think a 6.7 or something on that 10.3 pass... the computer was again reverting to the wrong timing table... it was down about 6 degrees of timing. :(

Like Matt said, we were only seeing 14 degrees of total timing on every pass. We usually run 20 on race gas, that is a lot of power and tq left on the table. 10.3x@140 was the best of the day, that pass he went 111 in the 1/8 and he was running 115 in the 1/8 at the cruise.


That and it bogged so bad the rpm's dropped all the way to 3000 after the launch. He left on the two step once and it blew tires through first.
