The unwritten rule has always been that if both cars leave the race is on regardless of the start. Do this hold true or have most people (that race) never heard this?

If you're dumb enough to chase them its a race. So yes A chase is a race.

Man, all of the votes and only three replies?
What about those that think it's an instant redo?

Those would be the sore lossers. Take your ass whoopin and get over it
A chase is always a race. Lets add to the debate a little.
If someone keeps trying to leave on you, and you sit every time. Then you get tired of their BS games, and leave as soon as they slow down to back up. What do you feel should happen? I feel if they want to f*uck around, I will do the same, and I will get paid when I cross the stripe first.

Its like I said in the other thread. Im not a fan of a chase is a race. On the street there is no "redlight" or whatever. If the other dude jumps then just sit there and wait on him/her to come back, ESPECIALLY if its for money. If your dumb enough to take off after him then you better be prepared to chase him down or hand over the money like a man IMO.

Yeah, that other thread got out of hand. I only posted a pole because the other driver said that he had never heard that in all of his years of racing and it's always been an unstanding in all of the race scenes I have ever been around.
I never said that I was a fan of the chase is a race thing I was just curious if most people know that if you do leave it's on. It certainly didn't look like a jump and if it was, it was unintentional and way too close to call even with video.

I wasnt there so I dont know but if he left chasing the other car then that was it, he should have been ready to hunt him down or hand over his cash.
