I want to try the extreme class. I know they are fast and in the mid to low 5's. Im not sure ill be that fast or not.
And the motor plate is a front plat that bolts to the front of the block and gets rid of the motor mounts.
What class are you gonna run?
this is a motor plate Luke

we run a front motor plate and a mid plate with a poly mount in the back for the transmision. if we solid mount the 3 speed in the car then it can cause the tranny that we use to fail. most cars run a mid plate that i have seen so you can yank the motor and not effect the trans and vise versa. but you can soild mount that back of the trans as well what ever you want to do works either way.

The new 6.50 index class if it gets off the ground. I only have little 306 with a KNS kit and going to be adding a powerglide on a transbrake. I am going to be the crazy SOB to sprayin a 200 dry shot. :D

Thanks I am still new to all this baddassery.....I do everything I can on my own and hope I don't fuck it up. I have to admit that DFWStangs has been the best bunch of guys I have seen on any board. Yes we eat our young or feed them to our cropped ears pitbulls but if you ask a question and listen you will get great advice. Thanks!

Im running a glide do you think it will break with a solid mount? How would I figure that out without trial and error

no you should be fine all of our glides have always been solid mounted in full tube chassis cars, dragster and back half outlaw cars...

If you run a solid tranny mount, make sure you use solid motor mounts because if you don't you will be replacing the tail section of your tranny because it will crack. I run solid motor mounts and run a poly trans mount.

true about turning corners but we all make at least two turn... one to get on the track and the other to get off right... do those corners count? :)

Use a poly transmission mount. Unless you have a super stiff chassis that doesn't flex you will bust the tail housing on your tranny with a sold mount. I know first hand what it will do. It cost me a race when I ripped the tail section off a glide in the semis one night. Also if you just run a motor and mid plate with no tranny mount you will bust the bell housing. It might not be a problem on dirtdobbers since they don't have the power and force put on them like a drag car has. :D
in all seriousness i would run the poly tranny mount! the pg cores are getting harder to come buy and the cores can start at $75+ then if you can cut and swap the bell and put the guts back in you can save yourself so more money. just to be on the safe side i would use the polly

Most of the guys I see these days running front and mid plates dont even run a tranny mount. Limiting bars but not a traditional x member and mount.
