That's my cousins. He runs dirt mods at devils bowl. That an old door panel from last season. He is just using it as a template for the new body. Why does it need anything else with as much power as its making? It doesn't need them. No corners were cut. It has what it needs. It's balanced and has good rod bolts. It's not making that much power.

Ok cool. So once you torque them down once you need to get a new set?

My motor guy said don't go over 175 and I shouldn't have to many worries.

he has stock rods with arp bolts and forged slugs

Then the only two reasons I can think of for not going any higher than 175 is b/c of a limitation by the fuel pump's capacity, or he knows that you're re-using stock head bolts.

Spend $40 on some ARP head bolts, and pill it up!

Yes, like mentioned already, The stockers are meant to be used only one time. They are called "Torque To Yield" bolts.

I am going to get the head bolts. 175 shot will get me pretty close to 500rwhp and thats getting close to splitting blocks. I'm not saying you will split a block at that horse power level, I'm just saying thats starting to get close and I want my motor to last me a good while.

if you do go get a set of arp head bolts get another set of head gaskets, you can't reuse the ones you have

Why can't I reuse them if I take them out one at a time and replace them with the ARP head bolts.

Unless someone can tell me why it would matter I'm not switching them. These gaskets were high.

Ive heard from some that as long as they havnte been through a heat cycle you might be ok. If they blow they blow. lol

Gaskets are high but youll regret saving 70 bucks when it does go.

lol. Not a lot of difference in changing them now then changing them later, besides taking the headers off.
