Overall a good weekend for me :D

Decided to ride the bike Saturday afternoon after getting home from work a little early. Had some errands to run and it was pretty nice out so I started up the 6 and went through the ritual of check tire pressure, chain, etc. Put on my gear and remembered that I had a hole in one of the fingers.

So I hit up Motor Liberty after running my errands to pick up some new N2 brand gloves. Pretty nice gloves. Got them for a little over $50. The knuckles and fingers have some nice carbon protection and the palms have some kind of padding as well. The leather is perf'd and should be good for summer riding. I also picked up some polypropylene glove liners for $7.

I'm glad I did because when I took off wearing the new gloves I could tell immediately that air flows damn good through these gloves, almost like a mesh glove. I pulled over and put on the liners and they actually helped alot. They feel about as well as my old gloves (that are not perf'd) and I did not lose any dexterity.

Anybody ever hear of these N2 gloves before? They have some pretty good features on there upper end gloves. Might pick up another pair of gloves before spring or summer and might pick up another pair of these or invest in some Held gloves.

Anyway, I spent all afternoon riding around. I started heading home as it got dark and it started getting pretty cold to. As I got closer to home I picked up the pace going down one of the main roads right by my house. I was probably doing around 45-50mph in a 35 mph zone. Dammit, flashing red and blue lights behind me  I had to go down the road a ways to find a safe place to pull over and I signal the copy behind me that I was going to pull over in a church parking lot. I kill the bike and dismount and start taking off my gloves and helmet. It's a young cop... shit... He yells at me not to worry about taking off my gloves  He comes over to me and ask that I slow it down some. He told me he rides to and he knows that people don't see as well and he would appreciate it if I kept to the speed limit.

Dayum! I shock his hand, told him thanks, and told him to be safe out there to and have a good night. Damn, second time in a row I've been let off with a warning for speeding.

I felt like playing some Ice Cube "Today was a good day" when I got home. I rode around town for the better part of 5 hours after having not ridden in close to two months. Made some extra cash from selling a couple of things. Bought some new gloves for what I thought was a good price. The Mavs won a close game. Damn I can't wait until the weather gets better.

Anybody interested in buying some Icon XL gloves with a hole in one of the fingers :D

glad you got let off, usually its the young ones out to prove themselves. I had a pair of N2 gloves, and honestly I was less than impressed. I wore several holes in them after less than a season. But apparently the cleaning instructions MotoLiberty gave me for them were completely wrong. Just make sure you keep them inside as much as possible, and dont leave them balled up in your helmet for long periods of time, it wears out the leather. Otherwise, they were very comfortable gloves when I had them, but right now I have some A* summer gloves and some gauntlets from Cyclegear for when its cold.

I'll take the old gloves...j/k. I have the same N2 gloves, had them all last year and they are wearing great. No problems whatsoever.

N2 is MotoLiberty's house brand gloves. They have them made. Supposedly a couple of the pairs that they have are made of kangaroo leather but i am not positive about that. They are some nice gloves though

Ya, I learned that lesson with my old gloves and will take your advice from now on. I know when I get off the bike where I'm going I always take my gloves off and throw them inside my helmet. I'm going to make it a habit not to store them in there all the time.

Really? Is Moto Liberty the only place that carries N2 than? Is this the only Moto Liberty location?

I got some N2 summer gloves & like them a lot.

A trick I learned is to Lexol both my leathers AND gloves a couple times a year.
Helps keep the glove leather from drying out & cracking.
I guess gloves get more sweat & salt that causes them to dry out quick.

BTW 1st time I had the bike out after the ice storm I got stopped too!
Woman Cop checked my license out & came back said.....
"You know the last time you were in trouble was 1988?" -yes mam
"Don't you think you're a little "OLD" to be speeding around on a sport bike like that?" -Uh.....yes mam
(....while thinking - dam, that cuts deep! Like what am I supposed to do - die after 50, ride a cruiser, get a grandpa car, quit having fun? ....Better keep my friggin mouth shut tho !!! )
"Slow it down - have a nice day" -thank you (.....Whew! )

Didn't tell her about all the tickets I got since 1988 that aren't on my record! LOL
Thank God for good ticket attorneys!

Glad you didn't get a ticket either !!!

I went riding around Sherman last night, then got bored and headed south on 75.....ended up getting lost in Plano. Fun times. Weather was nice, had thermals on, then jeans, thermal socks, one long sleeve and one short sleeve shirt, then my jacket and my helmet and gloves. Wasn't too chilly. I put around 100 miles on the bike last night.

I don't think Jose was really trying to sell a pair of gloves with a hole in them....... ;) I could be wrong though, us mexicans are shady.

Jose, I just bought these. They seem to be pretty nice and breathe like you're talking about. I don't have much to compare them to, but I like 'em. I definitely need a liner though if I'm gonna wear them when it's cooler than about 60* out! They're Alpinestars.

haha! I was wondering how long it'd take you to say WTF??? haha! yeah, I picked up that '03 ZX6-R that was in the classifieds a few months ago. It's a high mile bike that's been ridden pretty hard and has a crummy paint job, but it was a good deal for the money. Full M4 exhaust, GPR steering damper, Power Commander and down a tooth in the front. Pretty zippy for an old fart like me! :)

lol, It was a joke, but they WERE posted in the new sub cat in the classifieds. 20 bux and some thread will take a newb a long way!

Seriously though, I bought and ICON jacket and gloves and the stitching has been horribly cheap.

Doug, congrats on the purchase!
