I'm looking at getting my motor in my 4 wheeler rebuilt. I'm just wondering is this just going to cost way to much in the long run and would be cheaper to buy a used one?

Its a 99 Polaris 400 scrambler, the piston kinda of broke in 2 :o . So yea it needs some work done ;) I have no idea what they charge to do something like this. Any ideas on what I could be looking at? I plan on giving some shops a call tomorrow morning. Anyone yall recommend?

I second doing it yourself.download or buy a manual and take your time. If your mechanically incline at all give it a shot. There not that much to them. Do you work on cars at all?

if you are close to arlington ....bring it by ...ill help you

if the piston did brake , it will need jug and possibly
head work

if not ...mew piston and rings will cost aroumd 100.00 or so
gaskets another 30.00

shop will charge you somewhere around 250-500.00 for a top end revuild depending on what is damaged
