Since there is no way I am going to stunt out my gsxr, I have decided to get a lil pit bike, put on a 12 oclock bar and maybe a cage and go to town. Question is, why are people payin out the ass for crf50's and klx110's? I found some really nice lookin 125cc's for like half of those. Its not like I need it to go 60, just needs a clutch and a little power/quality. Anyone know anyone selling anything btw?

Please fill me in! I hate learning shit after the fact.

i got my knockoff for 600 bucks.. the carb that came stock on it SUCKED, fucker wouldn't run without being choked.

a mikuni 25mm fixed that problem, and as well i got a UNI air filter to replace the fake K&N, and a 25mm intake tube to match up to the carb.

i also put 1.5" spacers in the forks under the springs, because it was bottoming out when i'd come down from a wheelie.

12 bars and a cage aren't really necessary on a bike this small..though i think i want a 12 bar. i'm thinkin about fabbing up one, but i can't even imagine where a cage would take form on my frame.

if you got any other questions, LMK.

I'm under 200$ in on mods for the bike, i think carb/intake/filter cost around 140 OTD>

oh and if you buy one, go over EVERY SINGLE BOLT and tighten it, might even wanna pull it and put some loctite blue on there.. these bikes are known for shedding bolts especially when you're abusing them like i do.
and i bought mine from craigslist, though i've heard that they're gonna stop importing them bc of the honda knockoff motor infiging on patents or something.

That's more money.. .and plus as soon as he buys one he's gonna want to ride it.. not tear it down and work on it.

I'm waiting for my 125 to give up the ghost, then i'll put a big bore on it. I still have the 'break-in' oil in mine, 30+ hours of riding later. :o

If you want a REAL 50, i've got a 2003 XR50 w/ a lot of nice adult parts, including USD forks, disc brake, risers, etc.. I've got quite a bit of money in it, would be willing to sell for 900neg. Has big boy pegs, stand, tall seat, pegs, and a bunch of other stuff.

oh, its a 88 big bore as well, goes 40+ mph.

Let me know if your interested. My advice is buy a REAL bike (honda xr/crf) and save the headaches.

It will run longer than you own it.

The reason why everyone buys a CRF 50 and then upgrades them is because they are fucking invincible with the adult parts on them.
I got mine used , 2005 , with a 88 bore kit/carb on it.
billet triple tree/bars throttel tube etc.
all for 1000 dollars.
before that i had a chinese knock off dirt dobber. can't get parts for it at all.
that thing took hundreds of psuedo repairs, welds , everything I eventually gave it away.
I crashed it 100's of times bad learning to do spreaders , flamingos , wheelies , finally doing stoppies now ....
