dfwstangs.net car show?

I was thinking of doing a dfwstangs car show some time in April or so. I have a spot already and thinking of doing like hot dogs and drinks. Trophies are a must for maybe a four eye class, fox body class, 94-98 class and etc. and of course the old school class. Entry fee would be 15-20 depending how good of a deal I can get for the trophies cause I think it would be fair for a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place for each class....So what do dfwstangs member think about the idea. Any ideas would be great too....

Car shows are a different bread. They are very hard to run and make everyone happy. I have been to my fair share of shows, and all I can say is I would never try and run one.

Our local club CTmotorsports.net put on a charity car show last year and are in the process of putting on another one to benefit the childrens miracle. Last year we had a 85-90 car turn out and it rained. But there was someone to complain in every class about judging, what class they shoud be in etc... If you guys put one on I know we could get quite a few people from this area (central texas area) to make it

The place is still being worked out but if they say okay we will have plenty of space for up to 200-300 cars which I know that wont happend but the space is good to have...

I fully agree there. Everyone thinks their car should win and if someone beats them then they bitch. Doing participant voting or judging, you are always going to find that someone will complain.

but then you have people like me with a nice car that never cares to win. i rarely do and could care less. the only one i have won is fun ford and that is because im one of the few without a mustang :)

And, it's true that no matter what, someone will complain about a) how the show is run, b) how it's judged, c) the classes, d) the parking, e) the weather, f) etc., and/or g) all of the above.

Since it is dfwSTANGS.... I don't see anything wrong in just having mustang classes, especially the first time. you get to many classes and you will be in over your head.

At most maybe have a non-mustang and a truck class and maybe motorcylce... but the more classes the more money it cost.

Just my.02 cents.... i wouldn't show up to ls1.com's carshow and expect to have mustang class.

If you need help I am here. Been doing Autorama since I was 10, and this is the first year I won' be doing it. So, I know a little about carshows and how they run. Just let me know if you need ideas. Also, it might be a good idea to ask people their good and bad experiences so you can find a happy medium.
