No shit.. I didn't have my car there for almost 4 weeks, but that never stopped me from going to the Arlington GTG.. Well today's weather sucks, that is for sure, but when it is nice out and just a little on the chilly side, that never stops anyone... Regarding the Garland GTG - Chris, you have done a great job keeping this one going...and I'm sure you or someone else will revive it in due time...


I've noticed in the past couple of years GTGs slowing keeping momentum going when the weather turns cold...case in point last year - I did my best to keep things going at the FW Tuesday night GTG by getting us 10% on food and beverage at a nearby Taco Cabana on Western Center...the staff welcomed us, and we still bought out at least a dozen or so cars (Mustangs) and about 30-40 people into the dining room...they accomodated us, and we returned the favor by purchasing food and drink...lasted long enough till the weather warmed up and we went back to outdoor meets (I didn't bother this year, but TIMEC has made a stab at it)...


I always look at this hobby as about the people and the cars they own...cars don't drive themselves...and, after living in Florida a few years and attending weekly 600+ car count GTGs (Tower Shops - Davie, Florida - google it!) , understand...it takes some effort on all the parties involved to keep GTGs going...I think this is why the Arlington one (recent location) has been doing so well...its not uncommon to pull 50-75 cars, even when its 50 degrees outside...I shudder to think how big its going to get when Spring gets here (talk of moving it already due to maxing out parking at 2 restaurants - that's a good problem). The restaurants welcome us there, and people return the favor by purchasing from them...pretty simple to do...so why not do it?
