Looks like Ron Mexico might get busted for pot after having to throw away his "water bottle" that had a secret compartment in it containing weed.

What moron would try to bring drugs into an airport and on an airplane?

Im wondering if the leauge will suspend him, and if Shaub has the team 3-1 or better what they will do with Vick. Since they have interest in keeping Shaub if Im spelling it right, and lately Vicks only good for 8-8 or 7-9.

Vick is only good between the 20 yard lines. He is not a complete QB or any kind of leader. People wanna compare Vick to Vince Young. c,mom Can you imagine Vince Young 5 season's from now as he progress's. vince is a natural leadertoo, he bring everybody up on the team.

and imo Vick is the most over-paid player in the NFL, the Falcons will never be good as long as he is raping the salary cap. young would own Vicks ass any day

Don't focus on the wrong part of the story flash. He's rich, and he's a pot smoker, just a cheap one. Who DOESN'T know that you can't carry liquids on a plane, regardless of your fame/stature?

1) I don't smoke, and B) Pot needs decriminalization more than any drug ever persecuted.

You're probably the naive sort that thinks your team, your quarterback, your idol/mentor/whatever, is all clean, natural, in bed by 10 pm & such. I got news for you champ, there's a reason we're losing the war on drugs, BECAUSE THEY'RE SO MAINSTREAM!

You are stupid because you suggested sending illegal drugs through the mail. You do realize that FedEx, UPS, DHL, etc. check their packages just like the Postal Service, right?

I didn't mean to politicize it.

If you think that cargo ships, planes, tractor trailors and pick-up trucks are the only ones transporting drugs throughout the ports/cargo hubs/etc DAILY, you're living in a mighty cute little bubble.

Fed-exing an eighth (break it down for you- 4 joints(marijuana cigarettes)) of weed to a hotel/destination is about as common as buying a roadie at the c-store.

Being a high profile sports figure, without the where-with-all to finagle something better than a false bottom water bottle, which, even without the false bottom & the drugs, wouldn't be allowed on the plane anywho... never mind, I'm off to bed.

I'm sure people smuggle things all the time through ports and over the border each day. However, we aren't talking about people that do that for a living. We are talking about someone who plays football for a living and has a 10-year, $137 million dollar contract. A reasonable person would think that a person like that wouldn't be this stupid.

You go ahead and try to FedEx, UPS, DHL, etc. weed and see where it gets you, LMFAO!

He would have been allowed on the plane if the bottle contained 3 ounces or less of liquid. That is the limitation on liquids now when it comes to carry-on items.

Quit doing illegal drugs & start being a role model? You harp on the illegality of the substance, but what else do you offer?

Why would they go to all the trouble of expensive lab tests/court costs over a misdemeanor charge that usually ends up with a fine and no jail time for first time offenders?

Even though he isn't getting charged with anything, this has put his ass in a slingshot when it comes to the Falcons. If he doesn't produce this coming season, he's gone.

Oh, I don't know. Maybe because that is what they are bound to do in civil service? Nah, since it's expensive to do lab test let's just go ahead and charge him with a crime he didn't commit. I'm not saying he never has smoked pot. Hell, he probably did it prior to getting on the plane. But he didn't get CAUGHT doing so. I think Dan Patrick made a great point on his show today about this:

- How come Vick has not refuted these charges at all?

- How come no Atlanta Falcons front office people have stood up for him?

- How come the the Miami-Dade Herrold is now reporting that the airport security tape showing Vick throwing the bottle away has now been erased AFTER the Atlanta Journal Constitution requested the tape through the freedom of information act?

You might want to actually keep up with things instead of just yanking your shit all day long. This got swept under the rug, plain and simple.

The difference is, none of those players brought an illegal controlled substance into a federally controlled/secured place.

Charges weren't filed against Tarrell Brown or Tyrell Gatewood because they did not test positive for any drugs and the gun was registered to them and they had all the legal papers to prove it. I'm not sure if Aaron Harris was charged with anything, but it doesn't really matter because he was no longer on the team and had graduated.

That "fight" before the Rose Bowl was nothing more than some douche trying to start trouble because he knew they were about to be in a big game. Nobody is going to just let someone come up to them and push/hit them. No charges were filed because the other guy knew what he did was BS and just wanted his 15 min of fame.

How about your boy not having any charges filed against him after that little fight he had in a club he shouldn't even have been at?

Questions linger, but cops insist Vick case 'is over'

By D. ORLANDO LEDBETTER, ANDREA JONES
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Published on: 01/25/07

In a little over 48 hours, authorities plucked Michael Vick's confiscated water bottle out of the recycling bin at a Miami airport checkpoint, tested its contents, checked out the security video and determined the bottle's secret compartment didn't contain marijuana.

But while police released more details about the case Wednesday, don't expect to see the Vick video that started "AquaGate" anytime soon.

Miami-Dade County police have deleted their copy in an apparent violation of state law. Airport officials won't release one either, citing national security concerns. And Vick, the one person who could put this whole thing to rest, isn't talking.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution requested a copy of the video on Jan. 18 from the Miami-Dade Police Department, under the state's public records law.

After initially saying they would not release it because it was part of an open investigation, police spokesman Robert Williams said Wednesday the video had been deleted.

Tom Clyde, attorney for the Journal-Constitution, said Florida law requires requested records to be held for at least 30 days under the law.

"I'm not aware of any reason that they wouldn't have had to retain it," he said.

Sterling Ivey, spokesman for Florida Department of State, said Wednesday the video should have been retained for 30 days under the state law's retention schedule for surveillance videos.

The wrangling over the video release is the latest turn in a case that has been bizarre from the beginning.

Miami-Dade police denied on Wednesday that the Atlanta Falcons quarterback received any preferential treatment. "Because he was Michael Vick had no bearing on the case," Williams said. His superior, Cmdr. Linda L. O'Brien, agreed.

"This case is over," O'Brien said.

Maybe so, but in the week since Vick's water bottle was pulled from the recycling bin, the questions surrounding the incident continue to grow.

Here is how the case unfolded, based on police reports and interviews.

Wednesday, Jan. 17

Vick is stopped at the airport after screeners, who recognized the football star, find a 20-ounce water bottle in his carry on bag. Vick waffles over whether to put it in his checked luggage or throw it away, according to a police report released Wednesday. "Since the passenger demonstrated a great interest for the water bottle, I decided to recover and re-examine the water bottle," TSA agent Gertrude Joseph said in a signed affidavit also released Wednesday.

Thursday, Jan. 18:

The evidence — the water bottle — is logged into the crime lab. Testing is going to take a while, Williams said. "In the big scheme of things, as far as the [Miami-Dade police] is concerned, that's not a major case. We have homicides and sexual batteries and other things that are probably going to take precedence, so that's going to be months down the road."

Vick's attorney, Lawrence H. Woodward Jr. of Virginia, sends a letter to Miami-Dade police Detective Kevin C. Kozak. He advised Kozak that Vick "does not wish to make any statements at this time" and that he would like an "the opportunity to discuss the matter with [Kozak]."

Vick goes to the team's Flowery Branch complex and meets with team president Rich McKay and new coach Bobby Petrino. Team owner Arthur Blank joins via telephone. McKay is the only person to speak after the meeting: "I met with Michael this morning, the coach did, we clearly expressed our displeasure, had a pretty frank discussion about it."

It's unclear whether Vick's lawyer ever talks to the detective. Miami-Dade police refused to make Kozak available for comment Wednesday.

Woodward, reached in his office Tuesday evening, said, "I have no comment about what efforts I undertook on Mr. Vick's behalf or about the time line from when the bottle was taken or anything. I can't help you any further."

Friday, Jan. 19:

Police records show the test results on the water bottle's contents were completed at 2:07 p.m. Oliver Spicer, who is listed in police records as the person who administered the test at the Miami-Dade crime lab, would not say what the test revealed when contacted on Tuesday. He referred questions to the media relations department. On Wednesday, media relations officials said Spicer did not want to comment.

Saturday, Jan. 20:

The case gains national attention, making headlines in papers across the country. "Saturday Night Live" spoofs the Vick case in a segment on "Weekend Update" where anchors sarcastically question Vick's actions at the airport.

Sunday, Jan. 21:

By Sunday, Woodward learned that the tests had come back positive and that Vick would not be charged on Monday, a person familiar with the case tells the AJC. ESPN.com also reports Sunday night that Vick would be "exonerated" on Monday, citing unidentified NFL sources.

Monday, Jan. 22:

The state attorney's office decides not to press charges for possession of marijuana and/or drug paraphernalia.

Aftermath

On Wednesday, Williams, the police spokesman, insisted that Miami-Dade tests all of its marijuana evidence, whether it's a misdemeanor or a felony.

Williams said Wednesday the workload of the lab determines how fast something gets tested. "If the workload is light, they can do an analysis quickly. Their workload might not have been as heavy as we thought it was going to be."

When asked about the substance, Williams said, "The results were just that it was no contraband." Police refused to say how the substance was tested.

When pressed about the quick turnaround, Williams said, "We could have had 1,000 bales of marijuana back there or nothing at all. They couldn't have gotten to it as quickly obviously."

Daniel A. Lurvey, a former prosecutor with the state attorney's office, said the quick evaluation of the bottle with a hidden compartment was an "abnormality."

"Usually the lab has a turnaround time of within three weeks on felony drug cases because an arraignment is always three weeks from the time of the arrest," said Lurvey, of Lyons & Lurvey, a Miami-based firm that handles criminal defense work.

He said celebrity status does play a role in criminal cases.

"Sometimes other things go into the calculation not to pursue charges," Lurvey said. "The amount of something. The difficulty in proving it. Sometimes the backdrop of who the person is, although that really should not be involved, but sometimes it is. Somebody just made the decision to clear it."

Again, dude wanted his moment of fame and cashed it in. Should they have walked away, yeah, but who do you know that just walks away when someone is pushing you/cussing at you/etc? I know of none. They also didn't hit/kick someone while they were on the ground like your pussy boy did.

Also, I sure would like you to find either of those police reports because I think you have both of those situations reversed. I'm guessing you think that your pussy boy was just hanging out and not doing a thing, right?

Thats a funny 'story' you have there. I bet you got that off of an Arkansas board. I like how Texas always has boosters to pay everyone and anyone off. Texas is probably one of the cleanest programs in college football right now.

Your team on the other hand is probably one of the dirtiest seeing as how they recently sent out letters to prospective recruiting prospects in Arkansas, stating that they were the only D-1 school in the state when it came to football. There are like 6 D-1 schools in Arkansas when it comes to football. 3.) I could give two shits what any law enforcement officer has to say, should something come up. I haven't done anything wrong, so I'm not incriminating myself as you might think. That makes about as much sense as you thinking Michael Vick should be charged with a crime that he didn't committ.

I'll agree to who had the better season. I'll even agree that UT was a better team *this* year. And they will most likely be a better team next year as well. :o No argument there. However, what does that say about UT, seeing as how they still finished behind OU?

As for the Fiesta Bowl - Yeah, that sucked. Losing Peterson is going to kill us next year as well. However, that was a damn good game IMO. And apparently I'm not the only one who thinks so, seeing as how that game was talked about by MANY sports commentators as one of the best games in college history.

The specific incident with Terrence Kiel was mentioned in this post earlier. Obviously you lack the ability to read and/or comprehend it which isn't surprising coming from an OU fan. It was in post #70 if you care to review. Make sure you read slowly so you can soak it all in and understand.

Also, you can say what you want, but its a pretty hard sell with you having no proof other that your bullshit mouth and the fact that a person who has more money/resources than you not being able to get cough syrup mixed with soda through the same transportation medium.

Ok, whoever said the part about 20 lbs. was just rattlin shit out there ass, it has to be a MUCH smaller amount than that. Kiel's problem is that he was sending liquid through the mail. Liquid is much easier to tell apart from normal mail, and why would anyone need to ship a bottle of soda through the mail. Suspicious to say the least. The bottle would be heavy and shift wait easily making it a prime package to be searched. A bunch of plants in a box just feels like packing peanuts and a light object, nothing they dont see 1 million times a day.

UT and OU were pretty evenly matched teams for the most part. OU lost to a team they were supposed to own, but then again it was on a bigger stage than UT made it to. Its all good though because next year UT will be a much better team than OU, until they get their new big play makers going which will not happen until at least the year after next.

And dont bash on someones wife, or bring your wife into a conversation such as this one. Just uncalled for, and is irrelevant to anything being argued anyways.

Ok, whoever said the part about 20 lbs. was just rattlin shit out there ass, it has to be a MUCH smaller amount than that.

I hardly think that's an invitation to talk shit. Keep going, you little faggot. You better hope we never meet in person, for your sake. You wouldn't be able to spew bullshit from your mouth, with your jaws wired shut and eating through a straw.

Why bring it up then? You should have just kept that cum dumpster you call a mouth shut and walked away from recieving yet another ass raping.

I guess you must be PT's little brother because you and him are the only two people on here that get so twisted off that they threaten to physically harm someone over sports. That right there alone shows how poor of a debater you really are.

Welcome to DFWStangs where everyone is an expert in everything and nobody lies about anything.

People send liquids through mail mediums all the time, it was the simple fact that it was the volume in which he was sending.

I would assume that if someone were dumb enough to try and send pot through a mail medium, they would have it in a processed form and not a plant. Either way, everything gets X-Ray'd and it would get spotted easily.

The use of mail services appears to be routine and growing. Data from the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) indicate that marijuana is the drug most commonly seized from parcels, and reporting from several law enforcement agencies indicates growing use of this method. DEA and HIDTA reporting identifies mail services as one of the most common means to transport marijuana in Connecticut, Delaware, and the Baltimore-Washington, D.C., area. Shipments of marijuana transported through mail services typically range from 5 to 40 pounds per parcel.

Is it just me, or are you suddenly an expert on mail processing? yet you have obviously never tried to send pot through the mail (not that I would expect you to). Kind of a hypocritical statement if you ask me. Im not trying to start a little e-fight like ya'll seem to be enjoying, but I do not mind debating the subject.

You know what I mean, just because it has been processed does not mean it is no longer a "plant".

Where ya at, SVTVenom?

Unlike you, I actually have a job in which I have to do actual work and don't troll this board 24-7.

I read some, not all, of that link you posted and while very informative, it says very little, if anything, to prove what you claim you've been able to do. The only real thing it mentions in relation to your claim is in fact that marijuania is the most seized drug in mailed packages, as in it never makes it to its destination because morons like you actually think it works.

Also, that article is over 4 years old. There have been numerous changes in the way things are handled when it comes to mail security as well as transporation security as a whole.

Nice try though.

I have a job too. When i've done my work right, i have free time. Go figure.

The article never says that the drugs never make it to their destination. Do i need to quote it again? From the SAME quote,

DEA and HIDTA reporting identifies mail services as one of the most common means to transport marijuana in Connecticut, Delaware, and the Baltimore-Washington, D.C., area.

Do you think it would be the MOST COMMON means of transport if it never made it to it's destination... Is your skull that thick?

Find me the changes they've made since 03, i'm interested to see how they've addressed this problem.

I'm not threatening physical harm over sports. I'm telling you that if you are going to talk shit about my old lady, that you will be drinking your meals through a straw. Not that hard to understand, dickbag.

I think you may have used too much of your own product because you obviously have poor short-term memory when it comes to remembering what you've read.

Let me help you out here. Put the blunt and cheetos down for a second:

Data from the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) indicate that marijuana is the drug most commonly seized from parcels

That would indicate that it is easily intercepted and it never reaches its intended destination. Is it a 100% capture rate? More than likely not because no man made process can be truely perfect, but I'm relatively certain its pretty high given the tone of the paragrah and the results of recent events i.e. Terrence Kiel being charged over shipping a legal substance through the mail, but in an illegal amount/manner.

Maybe its the most common way because small-time drug dealers tend to be dumbasses like you and get caught. Obviously they must not be that intelligent because they are having to resort to breaking the law to make an income.

Either way, you are a fucking dumbass for sending drugs through the mail or bringing them into an airport and trying to board an airplane.

Again, you are the one that brought the subject up. If you didn't expect a comment returned in kind, you should have simply stopped posting.

No such indication is made - you're taking that from the article yourself.. Do i need to go find more proof? Speeding tickets are probably the most common ticket written on public roads, does that mean that they get all the people speeding? or even come close? didn't think so.

And i never said i sent the shit, only that'd i'd been somewhere when a few packages were delivered.

Your personal attacks give your argument strength.

Why don't you find some information that proves me wrong?

I'm not reading anything into it other that what it states.

When did speeding become equal with drug trafficking? Nice comparison there.

How about you do us all a favor, shut your mouth, and just go back to that wastland called Mobilehoma.

The only Faggot in here is you, a guy who talks shit from a team that got their ass whipped AGAIN in the RRS and got beat by fucking Boise St.

Debate what Venom? The fact A&M beat UT on the home field in Austin 12 to 7? How about the fact we just beat the UT mens Basketball team 100 to 88? What is there to debate with you, A&M has beat UT in both major mens sports this school year. I guess we can debate that by you saying UT won before that and claim some moral victory but really what is there to debate with you?

Not really. The amount of people who operate motor vehicles in this country greatly surpass those who traffick drugs in this country.

I guess the sun shines on a dog's ass every once in a while now doesn't it? You don't even want to get into the utter DOMINANCE Texas has had over A&M in NCAA sports, so in the long run, your wins this season aren't even on the radar screen when it comes to the rivalry as a whole.
