View Full Version : If you're not watching UT/OSU
then you aren't a college basketball fan. Best game I've seen in a LONG time.

Durant is a beast.
Texas is alot better than their ranking. What sucks is Durant is more than likely gone after this year. :(

Oh yeah Durant is gone after this season...he's a fucking BEAST! I think hes one of a few that if it wasnt for the new rule, he would have gone stright to the NBA.

Dude has 34 points. He's the freakin reason why this team is where it is right now. He busted out 28 on your boys a few weeks ago.

Not really. That only Texas' first loss in Big XII play. Taking them to triple OT shows that Texas can play with the best the Big XII has to offer. Oklahoma St. ended up with the last shot so there isn't much you can do about that.
Durant again is over the 30 point mark in Big XII play with 37 tonight.

ugh....that sucks..hell of a shot by Boggan.
Regardless, it looks like Texas is starting to gel. Yeah they lost but it was just a matter of who had the ball last....and it was AT Ok St.
Wow, both Boggan and Durant had 37

I was definately wanting to see how Texas would play in this game and against Texas A&M later on since those are the two best teams in the Big XII right now. The Texas A&M game should be a pretty good one if this game is any indication of how Texas can play against top-rated teams this year.

This was a dumb post, he made several clutch jumpers and 3s to keep the game close and allow his team a chance to win. Not to mention to solid rebounding. One free throw is second rate. How ya been?
What's up Trevor!
And yes, there is no maybe about Durant being at UT next year, he'll be gone. If it wasn't for the new NBA rulings, he would have been taken 2 behind that dude from the other OSU.

I missed it  . Oh well, that just means I have to make sure I watch the A&M game.

IT was a badass game! it was my first game to watch at the Arena and I dont see any matching it in the future!! The arena was going insane! Durant is badass though I will give him that. If he stayed for a couple more years I would think they would be championship contender with all the young talent they have

If Texas can get their Defensive rebounding going good, they'll be scary in the tourny and nobody will want to play them. Of course, if that crazy going out of bounds three isn't made the game might not have ever reached OT, who knows. Too bad Abrams couldn't have gotten that shot off in the end. Like Ross said, best game i've seen since the tourny two years ago.
Next year UT has some big dudes coming in, and when i say big, i mean they'll solve this years problem with not having that strong inside presence like they've had in the past.
Personally, even without Durant, in a couple of years (A.J.'s senior year) Texas should be one of the favorites to win it all.
I'll add one thing, if not for Kevin Durant being at Texas, all you would hear about would be D.J. Augustin play. He is badass with some of the plays he makes, always has a nack for putting the ball around the rim.

so does this say the big 12 can't play with 11th seed big east?
Villanova had the best freshman on the court Saturday and did quite a job containing one of the country's best first-year players.
Scottie Reynolds scored 26 points in his second straight outstanding game and the Wildcats held Texas freshman Kevin Durant to just 12 in their 76-69 victory over the 21st-ranked Longhorns.

I've never contended that Texas' basketball team is a national championship caliber team this year. I clearly understood that there was no way they were going to have as much success as they've had in past years and no team will when you loose all 5 starters to the draft.
Villinova played lights out today while Texas/Durant were obviously still feeling the affects of that triple OT game the other day.

and as for that, you can dream they want him. most schools don't sign players they know are going to be there for 1 yr and bolt.
but I want to see how you can prove that ark or the rest of america wish they had him

Seeing as how most good players are now 1 year and done with the new NBA age limitations, schools do sign people who they know are 1 year and done.
Do you know of anyone else averaging over 30 points a game right now? There are probably a handful that are even close to that right now. Some are even saying he's the best player in the NCAA right now.

how many 1 and done has duke signed, NC, UCONN, etc... schools that are almost always good? they don't want kids that aren't going to stick around for a few years

The age limit for the NBA just went into effect so that really nullifies your point about Duke, NC, UConn. Some of the top players in the NBA either only went to college for 1 year or none at all.

uh, NC had one when they won their Championship a couple of years ago. I think they even had some 2 years and out guys on that team. It was between N. Carolina and Texas and Durant chose Texas, so don't try and talk about how top caliber teams don't go after those players. In fact, i think Carolina has one of those 1 and done players on their team right now, can't remember his name at the moment though. Plus, i'm suprised that Tyler Hansburough(sp?) came back for his soph. season.
Just please don't say that those coaches wouln't want Durant on their team. But maybe you're right, maybe they wouldn't want the most talked about player in the ncaa right now on their team helping them to a National Championship (and by saying this i am by no means saying that UT is on their way to a nc, i know how some of you think over there)

probably by the amount of drool that the towel boy has to wipe off the floor when most coaches see him play :D:D
