Ever bought tickets from a scalper?

Just curious. I've never done it, but for those that have, are they any cheaper BEFORE the game starts, than buying them at regular price the legit way?

I've bought tickets from the guys on the bridge for a Texas Rangers game for face value and another time paid $1-$2 over face but usually the game had just started or was just about to start.

You'll have a hard time paying less than face value but you can probably get them cheaper than the ticketmaster raping. I've never done it for sports events but I have for concerts.

When I was in Washington D.C. I bought Courtside tickets to the Wizards game for $30 a piece. I was maybe 10 rows up at the most.

all depends on what game you are going to. importance such as rivalry, playoff, big matchup, etc... are all going to be the factors in price above face value.

as a few have said though... you can usually find deals cheaper than the retail resellers.

I have, its easy. After the game has started you walk up to a scalper and ask what he has. Then you DFWstangs lowball him. Dont have too much cash on you...you dont wanna be rolling through a couple hundreds to find a 20, ya know. For Stars games I can always get an extra ticket for 10-20 bucks just getting in the arena is all you need, the rest is how you carry yourself. You can sit pretty much anywhere thats open. Have fun. gf and I went to a mavs game and got there 10mins late. Went to a scalper and got 2 tickets for $50 each in the handicapped section lower level, face value... $100 each!

Seriously, just show up after the game ahs started (or finish off the 6er in your car) and ask what they got for 20 bucks. Have 40 bucks set aside in another pocket, exchange the 40 bucks for 2 tickets and call me when you get inside:).
