No, that'd make sense. They'll draft a kicker or something.

Later.

Maybe he can get the rock out of Carr's hands down in Houston and actually do something with that team. Thats about the only way they are going to do anything.

OU is my team, so I am sad to him him go. I figured as much though. If they had a quarterback this year (say Bomar if he wasnt such an idiot) that had done well and was coming back I think it might be a different story. With the qb up in the air, there is no telling how the season is going to pan out. If they were "probably" going to be contenders for the championship it might have been a little different. I just dont think he could risk it with his history of injuries.

with him gone that leaves no doubt to the best back in college football, mcfadden :D

I do wish AP the best of luck in the nfl and that he can score more td's in his 1st season than benson has in his 2 seasons of nfl play :p

He'll be lucky to even sniff what Benson did his rookie season with that crappy of a team. Not to mention he's going to have to fight Ron Dayne and Wali Lundy for a starter's spot/carries. He's a good RB, but he's going to have to prove he can do it in the NFL now.

By the way, you may want to check out the Bears' official forum because they are now calling for Benson to be the starter over Jones. Benson had some key plays in the 4th quarter and OT to get the Bears in position to score. Looks like Lovie is starting to trust him more than Jones in key situations.

I actually agree with that... the only question would have been would bomar have been better in his second season.. but he is a dumbass and we will never know. Thompson played very well this year except for the first part of the bowl game.

LMMFAO! Bomar!?

<---- Has to stop typing for a minute from the gut wrenching laughter.

Paul Thompson was 10x better than Bomar and this season proved that. Bomar fucking sucked, period. He couldn't even complete over 55% of his passes and had a 1/1 TD/INT ratio, not to mention a piss poor 113.5 QB Rating.

PT was better than Bomar.. but was also a senior in the program. We cannot compare what Bomar did *not* get to do versus what PT did. I was quite happy with PT's performance this year for the most part.

Paul Thompson had prior playing experience at QB in garbage time, but nothing of significant to give him an edge over Bomar. Other than that, all he did was play WR. Bomar was supposed to be the savior of OU after Jason White left and he just plainly stunk up the place.

You can't sit there and tell me that you weren't severely dissapointed with the production he had with as highly touted as he was.

I had not made up my mind on Bomar yet.. I was giving him some time to learn the system. And PT had a few years of 'garbage' time and a lot of pratice time in this system. I would say that gave him the advantage yes. There is a reason that even highly touted players usually ride the pine for at least a year or two.

Well, from what I saw, OU didn't lose a whole lot. That RRS performance was especially brutal.

However, it was quite amusing to see his departure and how it took place.

doesn't UT open up against Bomar & his new school next season? Would love to watch the slaughter first hand. :D

PT did a hell of a job, even the biggest of OU lovers were ready to cancel the season after the Bomar incident. Many of the predictors have OU around #6 next season. A little high in my opinion(top 10-12 would be more than fair), but if the get the QB situation figured out early, OU has a chance to have a really good run.

your missing the point jackass.. ;) my point was they dont have a qb that has started coming back this year. I was using Bomar as my example.
