McFadden will be on the radar for sure, but you just better hope that Mustain and Mahlzan stay there. Rumors are that both are leaving due to Nutt.
I have no idea of where you get your info, might be the same as the bama coach call.
Deny, deny, deny, deny.
Gotta love this quote from Mustain's mother:
"This breaks my heart," Campbell said. "We're going to have to sit down and talk about it. Classes start tomorrow and I don't know what he'll do."
"He and Gus are not tied at the hip," Campbell said. "But he knows what he's capable of and what his vision for offensive football at Arkansas was. Now you'll have to wonder if that will go by the wayside."
ONLY Houston Nutt could have this happen to him.

so the coach lied, ala nick saban, good for him. he didn't do shit for the razorbacks anyway. the only good thing to come from him was the wildcat other than that it was the same old arkansas.
as for mitch if he has any nuts he will stay there, but if his mom is still holding on to them then he will go where she wants him to go. it just means more mcfadden and jones next year and a shot at the heisman :D

LOL, Arkansas has its best season since the Clint Stoerner era and you say he didn't so shit for Arkansas'.
Thats like me saying that Gene Chizik had nothing to do with Texas' defensive success in 2005 and that him leaving to be the head coach of Iowa State isn't a loss.
I honestly think that this move may push Mustain over the edge and leave Arkansas. He still has a red-shirt to burn so going somewhere else really isn't a big deal with him.
More McFadden and Jones isn't the solution because they weren't enough to get it done in big games this year.

you seem to forget that mcfadden as a true soph wasn't mentioned till midseason to be in the running and yet finished 2nd after all is said and done. so they will be watching him from the start to see what he does.

The only reason anyone even started talking about McFadden is when Arkansas started to use him as a QB seeing as how Casey Dick and Mitch Mustain sucked ass.
Monk ain't gonna do much with his senior season seeing as how Mustain is leaving now, LMFAO!

My point is, he lied to get those Springdale kids in there and brought Mahlzan in there only to get Mustain there. He had no intentions of giving the regins over to Mahlzan and figured once Mustain got there, he wouldn't leave no matter what happened.
Houston Nutt is now in the "Slick Nick" catagory when it comes to lies.
Also, Snead left because of competition and not being able to beat out McCoy. Mustain left because of Mahlzan leaving and Nutt lying about how the offense was going to be run.

and again your lack of true football knowledge shows once again. you can't change the offense from a run heavy to a no huddle spread without all the players. ark was built to run, the O line, wr, and rb's all are skilled in the run heavy O. to switch to spread you need more wr and more speed at wr, you need O linemen that are better suited for that type of blocking scheme. as for the rb's mcfadden can do it all, and jones just need to work on his pass catching some.
now where you like to say he lied to them, maybe they heard what they wanted to hear. Nutt says he wanted to bring the O more to the present last year, meaning more of a pro style O. for the coach and the players to come into a Division One school and expect it to be just as easy as it was in high school, shows that neither of them were ready. mitch had 8 games to show he could throw the ball, sometimes he did sometimes he didn't. maybe he will go to bama to be with another liar coach like saban. saban and Mahlzan both can't keep their words. Nutt said what he told the coach and players and yet they didn't say he lied to them. Just the parents. again hearing what you want to hear and not what is really being said.

I clearly understand what Arkansas is when it comes to offense. My point is, if Nutt truely brought Mahlzan in there to be the offensive coordinator, you would have seen the spread offense this year. He was nothing more than bait for Mustain, plain and simple.
I think its more the other way around when it comes to Nutt and what he did. He said/did everything and anything he could to get those kids in there and its backfired on him. It just goes to show that some coaches will lie and sell their soul to the devil just to get a 5-star recruit to commit.
I guess Nutt will have to continue "doing more with less" now more than ever, LOL!

and for you
Best major conference: SEC. It went 6-3, and the only loss that could be deemed even somewhat embarrassing was Tennessee's to Penn State. And even that game - without a key turnover that the Nittany Lions returned for a touchdown - could have gone either way into the fourth quarter. The SEC gets a national title in convincing fashion from Florida and major style points from LSU for its BCS blowout of Notre Dame. The SEC also pulled two of the biggest upsets of the bowl season, with Georgia knocking off Virginia Tech and Kentucky stunning heavily favored Clemson.
Worst major conference 1A: Big 12. It went a misleading 3-5, but all three of its victories came against teams that entered bowl season 6-6. The wins came by a combined margin of victory of eight points. Whoop-de-do. Its champion, Oklahoma, lost to Boise State despite being a seven-point favorite. Its North Division champ, Nebraska, also lost.
Worst major conference 1B: Big Ten. It went 2-5 and suffered three double-digit losses, not to mention Minnesota somehow blowing a 38-7 third-quarter lead. Penn State and Wisconsin maintained a shred of dignity for the league with wins over SEC foes, thus lifting it ahead of the miserable showing of the Big 12. Kind of like picking between rotten eggs and month-old bologna for lunch. Ohio State and Michigan, the teams many people believed should meet again in the title game, were horrific.
Best mid-major conference: WAC. It went 3-1, with its only loss Nevada's 21-20 decision against Miami. Boise State finished the season undefeated with one of the greatest efforts in bowl history. Hawaii smacked around Pac-10 foe Arizona State, and underdog San Jose State won the New Mexico Bowl against New Mexico.

4-Star OL Lee Ziemba out of Rogers, AR had given a soft verbal to Arkansas and then recently de-commited after what just happened and his visit to Auburn. Rivals hasn't updated it yet, but its on both the Arkansas and Auburn boards.

For your comments about the bowl games, I think its pretty embarrasing for the SEC to have teams that have been mainstays get beat/squeak out victories over much lesser opponents. Hell, you bag on the Big XII, yet the SEC went 1-1 against them and barely won that one game with a team that was #2 in the nation early on in the season. Again, other than Florida and LSU, the SEC is mediocre and would get handled by several teams from other conferences and this year proved that fact.
I am willing to wager it happens alot. A coach promises a kid one thing to get him in the program then does another as he sees it will, somehow in his eyes, make the program better.
I'm willing to state that it doesn't happen alot and the only other time I can think of in recent history where a high-profile player like Mustain just bounced after things didn't go his way would be the whole Arizona St./Rudy Carpenter/Sam Keller incident.
Its a total chickenshit thing to do to someoene when the players have to sit out a year if things don't work out and transfer to another D-1 school. It does nothing to the coach/team other than lose the player in which they can just go out and get another. The only saving grace for Mustain in this whole ordeal is that he still has his red-shirt to burn so he doesn't waste another year of eligibility.

coaches will say whatever they have to say to get the kids they want. again, where did nutt lie? because the parents thought that a switch to speard O was gonna happen right away isn't the coaches fault. when you learn what it takes to play the game or understand why things are the way they are then you can continue the convo, until then you got nothing more than 2 kids who let mommy and daddy tell them what is good for them, nothing wrong with that, but mitch has shown he will back down when he is called out. like that book that went around.

Nutt lied end of story. He never intended to switch the offensive scheme. Thats like throwing the towel in and giving up to from a supporters point of view. Nutt's job is at stake if he tries that move and he showed that by not risking it. It would take atleast 3 years to sign players for the Spread Offense and be effective. Mustain wasn't going to wait that long as I am sure some others felt the same. This will bite Arkansas in the ass for a good while.

Nutt lied in the fact that he said/did whatever he could to get Mustain there and there was no truth behind what he said or they would have stayed. Apparently the offensive scheme change was a big part of him coming in there and Malzahn being brought in with Mustain.
I think the parents finally figured out that they weren't going to get what they were promised during recruiting in the fact that they weren't going to change the offense and they weren't going to get alot of touches along with the fact that Arkansas isn't a place to where they are going to get developed into NFL players. you seem to forget steve atwater, 1000x better safety than anything texas has produced, dan hampton one of the better dl, they had a rb by the name of barry foster, who sort of like ricky wasn't really into the game, but when he played he produced yards and td's and if I am not mistaken I think his best season is better than your boy Ricky's best season, but I can't remember if had the 1800yd season or not. and andrew's pushed all your texas boys around like they were rag dolls. those are a few of the people I can think of off the top of my head.

No, both they and I understand that college is starting to become a business just like the NFL and if you aren't able to be featured like you should be, you aren't going to get the type of results you want. He wants to go to the NFL and being the QB at Arkansas isn't going to allow him to do that.

He could transfer as well seeing as how his father decribed him as being 'fluid' on the whole situation. I'm not up to speed on Arkansas' TE situation so he may be in line for play-time and so that may be a reason he stays.
