Ok, now that the Eagles are done for the season, what happens to D. McNabb and Garcia? I know the un-written rule is that you can't lose your job to an injury, but you also can't deny that Philly did look better with Garcia in there.

Any chance the Eagles dangle McNabb as trade bait for a 1st round pick? Raiders?

$20 says McNabb is the Eagles number #1 QB once he's well. They didn't really look better, they did play as more of a team because their backs were against the wall, but through the first 7-8 games, McNabb was killing the league in yards/td's and least amount of interceptions.

I thought Reid loved McNabb, I dont think they will get rid of him he is younger then Garcia. It will be interesting if the Eagles are 3-1 or 4-0 next yr when McNabb is ready. Ask Bledsoe or Trent Green if you dont lose your job because of injury.

Chances are, thats what will happen, but there is no way that this can't at least be floating around in the minds of the Eagles ownership.

Mcnabb will get healthy and will be the starter again, and he wont have to compete for the job. They will sign Garcia (since he's a unrestricted free agent) to a 1-2 year contract as a backup. THE END

i think mcnabb keeps the starting job... whats the situation on garcia's contract, cause i am sure he could start for another nfl team out there...

I highly doubt that they keep both. After what Garcia did this year, there is no way he's riding the pine for Philly again. Someone like the Raiders, Browns, Vikings, etc. will sign him to a bigger contract than the Eagles would.

Garcia is going to be 37 years old by the time next season rolls around. He will have to settle for being a backup for the rest of his career.

thats not their problem, I think Carr had the highest or second highest completion rating, now if Garcia can play on their O line that would help.

Hell, Brad Johnson is 38 and he started all but 1 game for the Vikings. I think Garcia has a legit shot to be a starter next year on a sucky team that needs a veteran QB.

And that's OK, we have AJ Feeley who is easily a 2nd string or starter for a few of the teams who aren't too good. If you remember a few weeks ago when he played the whole game vs. the Falcon's and threw for 350 yards against a supposedly tough Falcon's pass 'D'. I wouldn't mind keeping Garcia, but I am very happy with Feeley as a 2nd string.

Just because you have a high percentage of completions doesn't make you a good QB. David Carr sucks and there is no way around it. The Houston Texans are the most inept franchise in the league.

Garcia will end up back in Philly as the back up. He has already tried the sign a contract to be a starter on a shitty team and got beat down. He has said numerous times that being in Philly has made it fun again, not to mention it has to be in his mind that he would have a good chance of starting atleast 50% of the games as McNabb will need a long rehab and could go down with any other injury as he normally does.

At one time I would have totally agreed with that, but did you watch any Texans games this year??? Being in Houston, I watched all of them and in well over half of the games he just plain sucked. Yes he can complete a high percentage of 3 yard passes, but at this point he is not a leader or a winner.

Are you serious? I had Mcnabb as my fantasy QB. He was killing everybody in each stat category and the Eagles were still winnning. They lost like 3 in a row becuase of one or two plays but Mcnabb was not the cause...

Mcnabb is thet started WITHOUT question!

Even Garcia admits that this was basically a job interview for a starting gig, next season. Besides the fact that Garcia is getting old, there are multiple reasons McNabb will be back. IMO, the main reason is that the reason for the Eagles offensive success does not mainly lie with Garcia, but the fact that the offensive play calling is no longer being done by Andy Reid, but by Marty Mornhinweg. Mornhinweg put together a vastly more balance offense that allowed Westbrook to finally showcase his talents. The Eagles will be a heck of a lot more dangerous if Mornhinweg stays with the play calling and McNabb comes back.

how quickly you all forget when he was a starter for the 49er's and browns. he is avg at best.
