View Full Version : Jerry Jones on "The Ticket" this morning...
I heard Jerry Jones on the radio station,"The Ticket" this morning and here are a few notes....
-Jerry wants Bill Parcells back(He also stated such last month if I remember. So if he doesn't return,it's because he doesn't want to.).
-He gave the Falcons permission to talk to Mike Zimmer.
-He plans on bringing T.O. back. He also insinuated (without actually mentioning his name),that his antics haven't swayed his opinion concerning bringing him back. Didn't say anything about the dropped balls.
-He admitted that they need to make changes to the defense.
-He admitted that Roy Williams has been a problem. He made it sound as if he was keeping Roy Williams in the same position, but "expecting" him to start making "the big plays".

I heard Jerry, too, and he got a little shitty with the boys when they started asking about Parcells, T.O., Glenn, etc. At one point, Jerry said something like, "I'm tired of saying 'yes' to all this stuff...knock it off." He got kind of short after that, but seemed to be pretty honest. Parcells needs to go back to NYC, and have T.O. drive him.

Just curious, but Why do you say that?
Problems with Roy Williams? Here's the biggest problem: He's over-fucking-rated.

hes not overrated..he just cant cover the pass...hes to slow....he needs to gain weight and be a linebacker

Like I said, he's overrated. Some people think that because he can lay the lumber on people he's a good safety. No, John Lynch is a good safety; Roy Williams is not.

Troy Polamalu is a good safety.

I love the ticket. It's pretty much all I listen to.
Anyway, we're all upset with T.O. and the dropped balls but let's be honest. He frees up Terry Glenn and Patrick Crayton. If T.O. leaves then is that going to put Crayton at the number 2 receiver? I sure as fuck hope not. Even with all the drops he still led the league in TDs by WR. He draws the coverage that opens up Glenn.
My biggest concern at this point, though, is if they will get Whitten signed. He's the best TE in the league. Why he's not going to the Pro Bowl I'm not sure. Let's get him back because we haven't had talent like that since Novacek.
Roy pissed me off a lot this season. He missed a lot of tackles. He's not a good tackler. He's a good solid hitter. He does come up with a few picks but there's more to being a safety. He's not Darren Woodson. We all loved him when Woodson was here. He really benefited from having Darren on the field with him.
The OL will still need a bit of work. But I'm really impressed with Colombo and Rivera! It would be nice to get a good center, though.
Running, Jones is never consistent. He rushed for over 1000 yards and that's cool but I wouldn't mind seeing some changes back there. Barber is powerful but he doesn't have the speed but I predict he'll become the starter.
I wasn't a fan of Drew getting benched at all. Reality slapped Romo in the face after Thanksgiving. In the end, he cost the Cowboys the season with his fumble. But it's his time now and I hope that he will grow into a great QB. I'm just really skeptical. Sure he's a pro bowler but the NFC sucks so much that even Bledsoe would have been elected had he stayed the starter. But, it was his first year starting so we'll just have to see how he does this next season.
The defense just fucking collapsed when Ellis got hurt. DeMarcus Ware can't do it all.
Anyways, we can just call '06 a rebuilding year. I don't care who the QB is or what the record is I'm a CFFL!

Roy has never been a cover safety, not at OU, not as a Cowboy. When Woodson left, Dallas tred to make him one & obviously it has failed miserably. :(

I'll never take anything away from Tony Gonzales and Gates is a real talent. And I like the bolts because LT went to TCU.
But Witten did spend his first 5 1/2 games blocking for Bledsore rather than catching passes. He still caught for over 700 yards. That's pretty good considering the state of the Boys.

You're a fucking moron, if you don't think Witten didn't deserve to go to the Pro Bowl.
But judging by your comments on sports, you don't know what the fuck you are talking about anyways.

I'd trade Lynch for Roy Williams all day, any day and twice on Sunday. I promise you that Parcells and J Jones agree.
Every member's performance is based on the performance of their team mates. If the D Line could freeze runners and receivers around the line of scrimage for even an extra moment, RW would have a better chance of catching them in the secondary. But yes, he looked slow this year and confused in coverage. That sucks because I used to enjoy watching him knock folks' teeth out of their head.

I'm guessing that your dumbass thinks Romo is a "Pro Bowl" caliber QB as well!! I'm sure you'll put him up there with Tom Brady or Peyton Manning as the best in the league!!
Witten is not a top TE in the NFL!!!

Gates: 71 catches, 924 yards, 13.9 yd avg, 9 TD's
Gonzales: 77 catches, 925 yards, 12 yd avg, 6 TD's
Crumpler: 56 catches, 780 yards, 13.9 yd avg, 8 TD's
Witten: 67 catches, 811 yards, 12.1 yd avg, 1 TD
If you compare players based on TD's, Witten is sorely lacking those stats. If you look at the other stats, though, he's right on par with the rest of them.
I guess it all depends on what you consider is most important when you analyze the players.

Witten is not a top TE in the NFL!!!Romo's not that great (kinda early to tell) but Witten is DEFINITELY a top 10 TE. Maybe top 5.

I'd say top 10, but not top 5.
He's
#6 in yards
#9 in Avg
in Yards after the catch he's not in the top 10 amongst the elite
In Touchdowns, he's not on the radar.
I would take these guys ahead of him for certain
Antonio Gates
Tony Gonzales
Jeremy Shockey
Alge Crumpler
Todd Heap
Kellen Winslow
Chris Cooley

Yeah, but he's #12 in the LEAGUE for total receptions, that's including wide receivers and RBs. That's gotta be worth something. Last I checked, most teams don't rely on TEs for yardage or TDs, they look to them to sustain drives. He does a great job of it.
I still say definitely top 10, maybe top 5, and by your list there I think you agree. ;)

I just think that Witten's the total package. He doesn't have the runnnig game that Gates and Gonzales have to free them up. He does more with less. He's no slouch. When you're RB is LT or LJ you're TE better have 1000 yards. I don't care what his name is.

TE's are usually possession guys when it comes to catching the ball. Crumpler is the only weapon Vick has out of the back field, so in turn he gets alot of balls his way. To me Witten is top 5 MAYBE...and Kellen Winslow being better than Witten? hahaha
Antonio Gates
Tony Gonzales
Todd Heap
Jeremy Shockey

Absolutely not. I don't think he deserved to go, but then again the Pro Bowl is nothing more than a popularity contest.
Witten is not a top TE in the NFL!!!
You sir, have a very twisted perception of reality.

That's because you're a stupid idiot. John Lynch is a future HOF'er.

I hate the Cowboys, but I will have to disagree with you there.
