Happy birthday to me :D
I went in telling myself I was just going to look around, maybe finger fuck a few guns and decide what I like... then my friend decided he wanted a Tanfoglio Witness .38 Super and told me he if he was buying, then I had to also. Peer pressure strikes again. :o

Picked up a new in the box CZ 75 P-01 in OD Green with 4 mags.

Anyone else get some new toys?

I didnt get shit. Rather disappointed. There was a nice transferable GI 1928 Thompson for sale at $17k. But I'd rather hold out for an M-1 Thompson. But still a good buy.

I didn't get anything too exciting. Picked up a box of hydra shocks, several boxes of 2 3/4 inch 00 buck, and a new brush and swab for the benelli.
I think I also decided that I'll be investing in a Kahr(sp) after I get my CHL next month.
Anyone going for ammo look for an old lady 2 rows over from the west wall of the building(the wall on the left when you walk in). She was a little farther than halfway down the aisle. She was by far the least expensive I came across on ammo.

I bought a $3.50 hot dog, not gonna post a picture though. Nearly snagged an AR-15 but I'm not familiar enough with them yet. Those Olympic Arms ones looked nice and were under $700.00.

They have a very mixed reputation.

Put together a Stag or RRA fo less than that.

I am just getting into 'collector guns'. What does post sample, pre sample, and transferrable mean?

I did find a .45 Luger Carbine for sale for a hefty price tag....

Transferrable machine guns are guns that are transferrable between average guys like you and me that don't require a class 3 license, but must go through a Class 3 dealer. They're the guns which are on the registry and what's on it is on it. No more can be added etc. And you pay a one time tax of $200.

Pre-Sample guns and Post Sample guns are guns only availible to Class 3 dealers. And post sample guns are only availible to dealers who have a Law Enforcement Letterhead saying a specific agency would like to "sample" this gun. Pre-Samples are more than Post Samples because Pre-Samples do not require a LEO letterhead and if and when your license expires, the guns can remain in you possession. Post Sample guns are cheap because they require a LEO letterhead to be bought and transferred to dealer period. So they follow what the normal price for what a new machine gun would be etc.

Pre-Samle Machine Guns are those imported to the US between the GCA and the FOPA, even if originally US manufactured, if it was imported during that time, its still a Pre-Sample.

Post-Sample Machine guns are any imported or manufactured after the FOPA in 1986. They must relinquish or destroy them when giving up their SOT or FFL.

Damn.... Thanks for all the info. I had no idea. I was under the impression that I would have to have a class 3 to purchase/own a fully automatic weapon. I guess I could buy one that is transferrable, but I don't have 17-20K to drop on a gun right now. :(

Yeah most people think you have to have a license to buy and own machine guns, grenade launchers etc. But you dont. You just have to go through a more extensive process of purchasing the item and longer waiting periods.
