I am 99% sure im turning my cheek to Sony after being loyal for years. Ive been playing my bro in laws 360 on his huge Projection TV and DAMN. In HD this system fucking ROCKS. Gears of War is just incredible.
2 questions:
How much is a subscripton to XBOX Live, and how is it hooked up?

The cost of the subscription to Xbox Live depends on how long you want it for. I think a year is like $40 or somewhere around that.

You'll need high-speed internet access of course and you can get the wireless adaptor if you don't want to have a hardwire connnection to it.

$49.99/year and you can either go into a gamestop and buy a card for 49.99 or just use your credit card when you set up your 360 and it will automatically renew yearly.

The Playstation network is free:) Unfortunately the PS3 is $200 more though meaning you've got 4 years worth of Xbox live before recouping the cost.

I don't think it's even that far yet. I noticed that xbox live has TV shows and movies you can download now, pretty much killed the PS network right there. If they'd just offer a web browser!

actually, the 360 has a web browser through Windows Media Center Extender.
Its an add-on you have to add on yourself :cool:
