Was thinking about picking up one of the music studio programs they sell at best buy. Just want something to record some songs on with my guitar and maybe add some drums to it. Thanks.

audacity

Freeware and seems pretty decent.

I'm getting a digital mic here shortly to record my horn playing and may try mixing it with some other tracks.

Runs in both Windows, Linux, and Mac OS I believe.

get a line6 guitarport rifftracker ... very cool
i can send u some shit i put together with mine.
one of the best $150 i ever spent. it

comes with a program that has tons of differnt sounds. i don't even use my amps half the time i just play thru the guitarport and run my laptop into the PA.

the riffworks program automatically puts drums down and they sound GOOD.

and it's all pretty easy to use.

audacity is a great tool for free. you can use it to convert ur rifftracker files to mp3.
