I know we have alot of Parents that read this board, and now that a few days have past since the tragedy that affected my family's life, I would like to just express to everyone out there how important it is to have on the proper safety equipment and to use off road bikes in the manner they were designed, not on the street, and not at night.

My son, and 3 other friends were out on Friday Dec. 15, riding around some trails by Lake Ray Hubbard, at 7:30 pm, they were coming home, about 2 miles from our neighborhood, the boy that was following behind my sons car, decided to speed around and continue down the road, no helmet, no lights, and at a high rate of speed. A van was turning and never saw him coming, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

So many things went wrong....these are 16 year old boys, they should have know better.

Please just pass on to anyone who rides, do everything you can to be safe..I know accidents happen reguardless,...... just do what you can to prevent them.

Liberty Grove and Waterview Pkwy., anyone that knows the area, it was right in front of the entry to the Broadmoor Estates.

Lake Ray Hubbard backs up to the Waterview area......

that's just horrible... and it's one of those things that you may do 100 times with no problem or you may have the van pull out in front of you the first time you do it :(

my thoughts and prayers go out to those involved
