whats the best program to use to download files from one another, peer to peer?

i used to kazaa and now i cant seem to find any results on my searches..

Fuck a bunch of p2p. If you want to download full albums use torrents, if you want to dl single songs then stick to limewire, and ares, but only if you have to.

Fuck a bunch of torrents, if you want to download music, just use all of mp3, $1.50 a fucking album. Oh wait, you guys can barely afford your internet connections.

OK, outta curiosity, I DL'ed Bittorrent to see what it is all about. I am completely unsure how to or what to do. Would someone please explain torrents to me.
