That $8 movie ticket is going to pay off big time... My girlfriend saw that movie and we were talking about it today at dinner. Apparently she doesnt ever want a diamond after watching that movie... even for her ingagement/wedding rings. I havent seen the movie but man, I gotta say, thank you "blood diamond"

sad thing is, diamonds arenot that rare...they are just hoarded (sp?)

Yes, indeed. One of the main reasons I like antique jewelry... you don't give money into the corporation if you buy used. This is a great read on the subject by the way.

I havent seen the movie yet but when girls start talking about wanting diamonds, I say how many people will have to die for you to get one?

The guilty conscience angle won't work...

Jennifer Connely was explaining in an interview for the movie how to purchase ‘conflict free’ diamonds.

Great point! Deadwood is the most popular, but you can bet it happened anywhere there was gold, silver, or oil right here in our own country. News traveled very slowly in those days, and "accidental" deaths occured often, and there was no one around to investigate.

thats when you gotta lay down the obvious on how easy it is to make a "certificate". Any moron can put a stamped seal on something and make it look official. You gotta tell them that companies fake that shit all the time :D

I dont care to see it....DeCaprio's accent is really annoying in the commercials. Kinda like shannon elizabeth in American Pie.. :)

Diamonds are a girl's best friend ;)

ever noticed things at places such as Zales or Helzberg saying "100% conflict free diamond"? I saw those years before this movie was even being made.

You'll have to ask her the specifics. All I knew was it was old and badass and didn't look like it popped off an assembly line or belonged in a rap video.

me and the wife watched it and she will not want anymore diamonds for about 2 months then I will be back buying more again... They need to start a rumor that all diamonds will cause cancer or some chit like that, That would help some.
