Actually, they had another jackrabbit start and are up 38-19 after 1. I really expected Sacramento to be a decent game. Sure the Mavs can lose this one - but I don't expect they will.
I need to take a look at the schedule and see where it I think the streak will end. I know they play the Lakers around the 13th, so that's a possibility if we still have the streak by then.

Up 62-41 at the half.
Hopefully we'll open up the gap and get to see a little Mo Ager tonight.

ESPN Power Ranking Has Mavs sitting at #1 in the league....... even before tonights win!! GO MAVS!!!
Hey honestly, how many games do you think you will lose when you put up 38 points in the first quarter. They are getting in the zone hardcore.. they might just extend this streak past 14 with the games ahead.

This is crazy... you'd think they were playing a bunch of college teams the way they are just rolling over them. I can't believe the difference between now and the first four games. The thing that impresses me is that for the most part the Mavs are still putting forth a great effort even when they are up by 20+ points.

Now the key is for them to play this way when it really counts. IN THE PLAYOFFS
Go Mavs!

X2 The regular season doesnt really means anything except for homecourt advantage. The Mavs will probably blow it in the playoffs again.

Hmmmm interesting.
Fueled by a 38-point first quarter and a 62-point first half, the Mavericks cruised past the Sacramento Kings 109-90 Friday night despite some obvious bouts with complacency.
How else do you explain Jerry Stackhouse shooting an airball from 12 feet at the end of the first quarter?
Or Devean George blowing a dunk just before halftime?
As proud as he has to be over the third-longest winning streak in club history -- all since an 0-4 start -- Johnson rarely lets it show. He called a timeout after a few defensive breakdowns while up 25 in the third quarter, and in the huddle barked about them having several fouls in the quarter while the Kings didn't have any.
"It's not always going to be like this," Johnson said. "We've hit a stretch where we're getting away (from opponents) with some leads now."

ls1haha]they might just extend this streak past 14 with the games ahead. They could easily blow past 14 - and you could make that assumption just by casually looking at the schedule. However, I'm trying to figure out where they might lose it at based on history and how the schedule is laid out.
Let's see:
at Washington - 6-9 record...looks easy but they are 0-7 on the road and 6-2 at home. Mavs have two days off, so we'll be well rested. Since we're playing in their building, I could see the streak stop here.
at NJ - 6-9 also...only 3-4 on their home floor. Mavs usually have an easy time with NJ - but this will be the 2nd night of a back to back. I don't see the streak ending here though. Back to backs don't affect Dallas too much because of the deep bench.
vs Detroit - 11-5 - could be here. Detroit is nearly as hot as we are...won 8 in a row at the moment. 5-3 on the road. They look to make a statement that they're for real and possibly avenge the 40 pt blowout Dallas put on them here last year at AAC.
vs Denver - 9-5 - started slow like Dallas but playing well lately. Good road team.
at Utah - 13-4 - currently best record in NBA - Mavs will show up for this one, will Utah? Utah will have been sitting at home for 2 days before this game.
vs Lakers - 10-5 - revitalized team this year, playing well so far. However, only 1-3 on the road. The majority of their games have been at home so far, where they've mopped up. Kobe always plays well against Dallas though. Also will have played Houston the night before, may be tired on a back to back set.
I don't know where it will stop at, but surely they will have lost somewhere by the time they play the Lakers. Hopefully it'll be the next game or two...rather see them lose there and then sweep through all the strong teams on the schedule :)

That was probably one of the most dominating games I've seen them play in a while. The Mavs are definately the hottest team in the NBA right now and are showing no signs of slowing down, so long as they stay healthy.
