According to a report by an TV station in Iowa, Texas defensive coordinator Gene Chizik will officially become Iowa State's head coach at 6 p.m. today.

Hmm, that's interesting. I just waited on him and his family 2 days ago. He was wearing his UT shirt and they were rooting for the OSU upset of OU. Couldn't have been a nicer family.

errrr.... scratch that, I waited on coach Akina and his family :o . He'll be calling the defense for any possible bowl game.

Good for him. You cant expect to keep the good ones as coordinators for too long.

I believe he will be the third coach during the Mack Brown era to go on and become a head coach.
