Moral Victory number 10, you do know UT lost to Texas A&M, LOL. I guess I can used to the endless moral victories for the next year as long as you are comfortable with the loss.

Boise St. and Wisconsinininin would be a good game. I'm not too sure Boise could beat them. But they should hand Louisville their ass.

A&M beat Texas
Mavs beat Spurs
Cowboys whooped TB
Giants got embarrassed at home
Eagles got clobbered by the Colts
Steelers got shutout and Ben got sacked NINE times
I don't think I've ever slept so good in my whole life!

it is amusing that A&M has basically been relegated to the role of 'spoiler' this decade...
seeing the reaction when they actually do win one is greatness.

A&M = spoiler
A&M won and we lost our shot at the big12 title and potential BCS bowl.
Same thing happened a few years ago when OU lost to OSU gift wrapping UT a shot at the big12 title game.
Look you won... its all good... for the day they played they just flat out beat Texas. Ill still take Texas as the better team and program on any given day. You can call it whatever 'moral victory' you want, but ill take the run UT has had over the past several years over an A&M win anyday of the week. When UT wins A&M just doesnt really have anything in recent history to look upon.
Same thing could be said after UT beat OU last year...
Hell, OU has been lights out the best team in the big12 since 2000. As a UT alumn ill gladly take 2nd seat to a team thats played in 3 NC games this decade. Thats quite a feat for any team and im not afraid to step out and say that OU has by far had the best run.
Sad but true... A&M has been in cellar this decade. At some point A&M was going to win a game much like the OU faithful said about UT after winning 5 in a row... well, now its happened. A&M can get it out of their system and hopefully this will be a nice spark to at least get your program together to start winning again.

Theres still a few other places UT could fall as well depending on how the conf championships play out. Everything from the Cotton, Gator, Holiday, and Alamo are still open.
Keep in mind that the Cotton hasnt picked a big12 north team in 5 years. If OU were to blow Nebraska out then Texas would most likely get the nod.

not if they follow the guidelines. the only way texas wouldn't play the holiday bowl is if the loser of OU/NB also gets a bid to the bcs. if not then the loser gets the cotton bowl and then texas goes to the hoilday bowl.

big12 no. 2 doesnt mean in the standings. that means they (Cotton) get second pick of the bunch.

no they get the number 2 team which would be the loser of the title game.
there is a reason texas has played in the holiday bowl game alot, not going to the title game is the reason.

LOL... wow... Umm... let me see here.
Here are the teams that have played in the Cotton Bowl the past 3 years.
2006 - Alabama vs. Texas Tech (Colorado wins big12 North and no BCS bid)
2005 - Tennessee vs. Texas A&M (Colorado wins big12 North and no BCS bid) *This includes Texas as a BCS at large and Texas A&M was 3rd in the south standings
2004 - Ole Miss vs. Oklahoma State (Kansas State wins big12 North and auto BCS bid) *This includes Oklahoma as a BCS at large and Oklahoma State was 3rd in the south standings
Again... big 12 no. 2 doesnt mean the runner up to the champ game. Its a number in the selection process.

well, from the way it is stated in the selection process it is supposed to be sec number 2 team after bcs picks goes to cotton, and number 3 to holiday bowl. but it seems that isn' always followed.

yes, but the #2, #3, etc. picks arent based on record. Its based on the order each of the bowls get to choose the teams. Alot of the times the w/l record will line up accordingly, but thats not solely what its based on...
Look at last years SEC team in the Cotton.
Georgia won the auto BCS bid and LSU was runner up in the champ game with no BCS bid.
The Cotton picked Alabama who was 3rd in the SEC west standings.

Up until the UT loss that put OU in the Big XII Championship, OU was going to go to the Cotton Bowl unless they got an at large bid to a BCS game. My dad's boss is on the Cotton Bowl committee. They get the second choice, not the loser of the title game.
