Colt can't shake the jitters all game so Texas plays like shit and A&M fights tooth and nail to keep the game tied. Aggies are down by 1 point with :05 left to play. Coach Fran decides to go for a TD instead of a field goal, with the hopes of scoring a TD on their next drive if they don't score now :D . Texas wins by 1 pt and Fran is fired. However, I think its pretty dumb to think that him not playing that entire game had absolutely no effect what-so-ever on the team and on the offense.

I can promise you that you will not see any Colt McCoy goal-line sneeks again. It will either be Melton or Ogbonnaya handling the goal-line/short yardage duties.

I find it humerous that most of the Tu people's predictions before this game were that Tu would dominate. In fact, SVTVenom is so arrogant that I believe he predicted a 41-17 victory and that A&M wouldn't be able to run the ball at all. Looks like he was wrong on both accounts. I just hope this win is a trend that continues. Tu had won the last 6 games. Maybe we can put together a little streak now.

I think we will see where A&M compares to Miami in the next few weeks. I think the kid needs to sit for the bowl game, but we will see what the school decides.

On a side note, I think that the President of Miami should be fired along with Coker, since part of the reason he was fired was because he can't control his players. He didn't get fired just because he went .500 in one season. I was sitting at the 40 yard line, on the lower level, so right in the heart of the UT crowd. There were a lot of profanities and just all around sore losers during the end of the game. A lot of classless things being yelled. My friend I was at the game with,who is a UT alum, had some words with a few of them who were directing comments towards me. I laughed them off, and continued to sing the school song, and then proceed to sway by myself in the middle of all of them. He later appoligized to me for those assholes, but I found it a little amuzing.

Funny you should say that. Kellen Heard, the guy who made the hit, originally signed with Miami out of high school, but couldnt qualify. It took him another year to get cleared, and then he signed with A&M. I dont condone what he did, but the QB is a free man after he throws a INT. 2 of those were under-thrown. I think it was pretty clear that he still wasn't 100% as he just didn't have that little extra touch he usually had on it.

Quan Cosby is definately not the #1 WR on that team as he usually runs the underneath routes and thats who he was hitting most of the day along with Finley. Anything past 10-15 yards was a struggle to get directly on target.

I agree the hit was a late, but when you are on the field, on defense, and you get an open chance to hit the QB, you take it.

He was on a mission to hit Colt. The ball was intercepted, and downed, but he had no idea that was the case. If you've ever been on a field with a loud crowd, you don't hear half the whistles when a play is dead.

Again, I think being ejected, and possibly missing the bowl game should happen for the late hit. But I really don't think the player knew the play was dead when he hit him. I'm sure he thought he was performing a legal block, and getting a chance to level the QB.

yeah... its not an active streak now.... but IMO there are still times when its still relevant to bring it up cause it does show dominance over the short term. i had no problem swallowing the bitter pill that was losing to OU for 5 straight years. even at 1-5 i still expected fallout. now that its 2-5 i think the point is dying down. 6 years over any rival is a LONG time. even now that A&M has won one it still 6 out of 7 years of L's. If A&M were to lose next year and put the 2000's record at 1-7 i think thats worthy of mention... You could say this any time that a Top 25 team beats another Top 25 team. You could say that Michigan is a better team than Ohio State, but Ohio State just had their shit together and Michigan didn't (I honestly think OSU is the better team and they showed it by winning). Part of being the better team means showing up when it counts.

Right, but in some cases it's obvious. Do you not agree that UT has more talent and better coaching? If so, you could say they were the better team. The Mavs lost to the Warriors earlier this year, but the Mavs are still clearly the better team, and more than likely they will end up winning the season series. Unfortunately (or fortunately), in college football, teams only get one shot to beat another team. Who's to say that if they played 5 more times that UT wouldn't win them all? I think they would or would atleast win the majority.

I'd say that UT is the better team on paper. And 99.9% of the time Brown is the better coach (It looks like he has moved past his QB by committee days). I'll agree that for the most part UT is the (should be the) better team. But again, part of being the better team is showing up when it counts. In college football, you only get one shot at each team every season (except in rare cases). The players know this, the coaches know this, so there is no excuse for not showing up when you should. In basketball, baseball, and hockey, each regular season game doesn't count as much. Even the best teams of all time lost a lot of games they could have won, but it just isn't possible to win 80+ games in a season (hockey/basketball) and 150+ in baseball. Showing up for each game in those sports isn't as important as it is in football (college or pro).

If these two played five more times, Texas may very well take all five, but A&M could take all five as well. It is college football, a sport played by 18-22 year old guys, anything can happen. It is the reason games are played. If you just went by who has the best roster or coaches, then there would be no point in actually playing the games (And I'd be bored as hell on Saturdays from September through the beginning of January :) ).

i am a very proud texan, wouldnt trade living in texas for anything, BUT UT fans sorta embarrass me. Their ridiculous outlook on all UT sports doesnt encompass the pride of texas, but makes us look like a bunch of pompous asses that are blinded to reality

I stated it LSU wanted it more than ark did, they played to win and they won. Ark played like they didn't care till 2nd half, but then it was too little too late. I don't know if we played them 10 times if we would win any of them or most of them.

I still am not 100% sold that this ark team is the real deal. either they are just one of the most dominating running teams in a long time, or maybe the sec isn't as strong as I was making them out to be. That is the reason why I want ark to play texas, along with a few other reasons, to see if they can run the ball on them. if they can then they are the real deal and the sec is as well.

Last year they were national champions. This year they lost to "lowly" A&M. Hell, they only scored 7 points in an hour of play against "lowly" A&M.

You're telling me McCoy is as good as Young? You're telling me McCoy is the future of the UT offense? You're telling me McCoy is the prototypical UT QB?

The difference being that after USC lost, they moved below UT. If people really thought A&M was a better team, and not to mention they have identical records, wouldn't you think people would rank them higher? Computers, media, coaches, anyone?

I'm not making excuses or taking anything away from A&M because they did win the game. But when it comes down to it, MY opinion (apparently along w/ the media, coaches, and computers) is that Texas is still the better team.
