Sunday at the cruise 93WHITELXCOUPE and I were getting ready to put one on SEB. :D So we turned the bottle warmer on and started getting the car ready. We kind of got caught up in everything and forgot about the bottle warmer being on. OPPS! We had no pressure gauge on that bottle, so for me to say it had "X" amount of bottle pressure, I wouldn't know what it had for pressure. What I do know is that it had WAY TOO MUCH! We were staging and 93WHITELXCOUPE turns the bottle on, I did my burn out and prestaged. I went to hit the purge switch and nothing comes out. I think no problem, the purge solenoid is out. I arm the nitrous system and fully stage. When the lights drop I hit it and it floods out. :o My first thought was "That sucked!" I get back to the pits and immediately start checking for the cause of the problem. I check the vfuses, and no fuses were burnt out:confused: . We crack the nitrous line loose from the bottle to relieve the pressure and plenty of nitrous fills the trunk. With the pressure down the solenoids work.
What if the solenoids had plenty of amps to open at a higher pressure, would the spring have enough force to close at the high end  ? Well, we know that the fuel solenoid would close regardless of bottle pressure, once the arming switch was deactivated. And if that is the case, Nitrous is still loading up in the intake and cylinders with no extra fuel to mix with. Guess what happens? BOOM!
We have found that 900 to 1100 is best for our system.
Moral of the story is : More (Pressure) is not always best.
Yeah you put one on me on the second run. Treef me & got me by a tenth. :(
I wanted to tell you Thanks for the Helmet & hope we can gtg & go race sometime at the Creek. Here is my number when you go next 214-546-7918

I dont have one right now. It was the hatch back painted like the texas flag.
Ran 7.500 n/a.
I had a few problems with my kit also. I had my c-4 rebuilt and aT-brake added. I've never ever had a brake so I was clueless at the tree. I pilled down my kit and headed to the lanes. I was supposed to race a friend but I wasn't sure my brake was working or whatnot. I ended up running a 6.5 @104. I popped the hood on my car and my solenoid was leaking. All my lines were frozen. I couldn't get it to work so I made one motor pass.

I have seen in the past where racers wait for the bottle to warm up to X amount of pressure 1000,1100,1200 and the bottle is open, it is taking some time for this to happen at the same time the solenoid is going though some stress on its seal  , especially if the solenoid has been down the track a time or 50 passes  , so I have learned to warm, open, check, close, purge and warm, open, check, close and purge. It has helped me from having to rebuild my solenoid prematurely.

go see wild bill for example. although bill's problem did not result from pressure.

its pretty commonly known to anyone that use's nitrous that you can only have so much bottle pressure before the solenoids won't open......very important to have a pressure guage so you know if you have too much or not enough pressure...bet you have one next time... ;) the nitrous solenjoid won't stick do to pressure..if it has lil enough pressure to open,it'll close..in most cases...they usually stick do to contamination
