It was more by choice than anything. I could have made more but I would have missed the majority of the racing setting in the staging lanes. I actually wanted to see the races this go around. ;)

TOO MANY CLASSES...... PERIOD.
This is DFWStangs GTG for Grudge Racing. If I wanted to do Brakets & all these damn class's they held I could have went to any TRACK for that SHIT
I enjoy shittalking for three months & then going out & backing it up or Gettin Drug either way.....
DFWSTangs Cruise.
I think it should be Grudge Races & 1 maybe Two Classe's

I can envision this growing into a huge, major event over time. The number of people showing up at each event just continues to jump up and up.
What will kill it is if too many non-board members show up and prevent board members from making more than a couple of passes.
Perhaps a pre-registration process could be put into place. A member would PM Brooks (or whoever) and the member would receive in a reply PM a URL and a passcode tied to that user that allows them to print off a registration form (assuming they meet the post/age criteria).
Show up at the gate with the registration form and pay the normal amount. Show up without it (and no one can be found that can vouch for you) and you pay $100 for a tech card.

I only got three passes in, but you wont hear me complain about that. I thought Brooks and the track did a great job for organizing it. It seemed to run very smoothly. The more cars running, the better the track will cater to us next time. With the number of cars that show up, it just needs to be longer. Maybe next time the track could eliminate street night and make the cruise a few hours longer.

We ran 7.500 @91 in the 302.
Went to make a pass on bottle and as soon as we turned the bottle on for the first time there was a hole in the main line. Then the line blew before we could turn it off. My brother and I just jumped out the car and slamed the doors while the whole bottle fogged the car. :(

Thanks to everyone who worked so hard to organize this event! There were many of you that were laying down some very impressive numbers. Personally, I really liked the bracket class. Unfortunately my 200 seems to have burned the 2-3 shift clutches in round 2. It had a real lazy shift from 2-3 all the way home. However, earlier in the day my little ol' V6 did make its best pass in the 8th to date with a 7.55 @ 91.

wish the lines weren't so long, there wasn't much time with test and tune with the time spent on the classes, never had much of a problem before on the other cruises, this one didn't seem to run as smoothly and took too long on the classes.
the coupe ran a 6.41 @ 108 with a bad 60' not the best ET but best MPH to date. only got to make 1 nitrous pass :(
then i drove it home :D

Couldnt get the car to hook up. 60ft was off all day. Ran a 5.70 at 123 right off the trailer. Car was banging out. Found a cracked spark lug. Fix that. Ready to run a 5.6x.Go to qualify for KODFW. Nitrous doesnt come on. Run a 6.36. Fix that. First round. Take off. Car leaves decent. Electric shift doesnt work. Got that fixed and called it a day. I guess atleast I didnt break anything. :D

That thing was moving James!! Can wait to see it running at 100% its going to be sick.

I kinda had a feeling that the classes would take quite a while, but I didn't expect them to take that long. Another thing that sucked was the adding of a motorcycle class, WTF? Since when do we add classes especially after it was said repeatedly that things were already set and were not going to be changed for anyone. AND I'm pretty sure that all they had to do was chip in 5 bucks each and it was winner take all. All the other classes only won the money from the 50/50 and I think theirs should have worked the same way. I guess Im mostly pissed off that either you got to watch the racing or you got to make like 4 or 5 passes, just wasn't really worth my 10 bucks I don't think :(

Well this cruise seems to get bigger and bigger each time. One thing I noticed, is that in the bracket class, there were probably two to three times as many racers as there was last fall cruise, and even the last spring cruise for that matter. I assume all the classes were bigger this year and that was probably the main factor with it taking so long this year. bottom line is, I think we are gonna need more time next cruise....Ie 11-7 or something like that, because of how much it has grown.
I still enjoyed it. I only made 5 passes, but it's still good to see everyone at the track at the same time and to hang out and BS with people.

Do you want to invest a couple of months worth of research, prodding vendors, going across town to collect sponsorship - and then put it all together for free? All to get criticism from tons of people because there wasn't something in it for them?
Like I mentioned before - I pay at the gate just like YOU did and SO DID EVERYONE ELSE THAT HELPED FOR FREE. Did I get my 10$ worth? I sure think so. I had more fun than ever.
Brian had an oil leak that had to be tended to in order to make next round, I appreciate the fact that he did that instead of bring it to the line and making a potential oil down or worst case - wrecking his car.
I didn't think so. There were 12 bikes that ran through in a very short amount of time - they were suited up and ready to go. None of the other classes were changed in order for the bikes to run - they ran while we repeatedly called the others to the lanes. I elected to run them through. Yes, they did pitch in 5$ each. Winner take all. There was nothing for them and I felt they should have something.
Or did you not like the fact that I picked 3 kids from the stands to draw tickets - They got paid too.
You have no idea on what you are talking about with the payout for the other classes. If you were listening all day while I was running my mouth on the p.a. - The winner and runner up of each class got quite a bit of stuff.
There was cash paid back to the winner and runner up of EACH CLASS - part from SPONSORS and PART FROM 50/50. All 3 winners got 6 qts of royal purple, All 6 winners got T shirts from speedtech, KODFWS and Open Street got 100$ gift certificates to Wolfe Racecraft (which they both need :D). All 3 winners got HUGE DISCOUNTS to RAYMAC.

dam....I'm getting rid of my 4.10's cause the car is not likeing them... :o
What's wrong with it? Why are you wanting to get rid of them? C-4's love 4.10's. I don't think your gears are your problem.

I really can drive it anywhere and its a street car...I really dont drive it anywhere bro.....but with the T-45 I was trapping 85 mph on motor and with C-4 it dropped to 80-81...and they told me the C-4 is an over kill for my 4.6

Sounds more like a convertor issue rather than a gear issue. What stall do you have?

I have a 9 inch..3400 to 3800
Ran a best of 6.59 at 108. Didn't hit the bottle until half track. Lots left but will save it for Redline where I can really hook! I couldn't get M/T drag radials to hook for shit. Next time I will bring my slicks!
Thanks for a great event! I had a blast.

Next time, if there is a next time, there will be more TNT.
I heard some people who were in the classes say that they wish they would have had some TNT before the races. I dont know if it is possible but what I think would be cool is if there could be TNT for the first 3 hours and then all of us slower people could watch all the faster people in the classes. That way everyone in the classes gets to TNT first and the other people who cant get in the classes get there runs in then everyone watches. I think just as many people would come for $20. I dont think BIGED was complaining about paying $10, but paying $10 and then when we tried to get in line the guy was rude and wouldnt tell us what we were supposed to do. So to us trying to figure out where we were supposed to be it felt like it was unorganized. I had fun watching the classes but just felt like since I couldnt enter a class then we werent important enough to be there. That is my opinion on it. I did have fun but only got to get one run in (which half of it was my own fault cause I got mad when the guy just told me to go back and get in line later.
Thats my opinion, I still had fun and thought it was put together good just not enough people knew what was going on.

On a side note, who ever I raced in the white Mustang Fox Body that spanked my ass. Good run. I think you busted off a 7.79 or something like that.

Can't exactly call it a stock bottom end if it's been bored .030" over. And I'm running my times with 1.78/1.46 valves still. :D
Sure I can. I never said I had a stock 302 just a stock bottom end meaning my crank, rods, and pistons (with the exception of them being .030 bigger) are all stock. The pistons are after all stock replacements with the valve reliefs on both sides just like the stock ones.
On a side note, I have to give it to you, those are some nice numbers you are putting down with a stock long block. Have them heads been worked over any?

Nope. Only aftermarket parts on them are the Comp Cam valve springs and FRPP 1.6 Pedestal Mount Roller Rockers.
JUSTTHEDRIVER and I have tried to maintain as much of the stock long block as possible to see what they are really capable of. I mean, I know we could easily build an engine capable of putting the car in the 5's, but what fun would that be? BTW, we already have a Chevy II capable of that anyways. :D

The thing is - if you don't come and find ME.. I can't help you out. I can't begin to tell you how many time Sunday I got someone in line, told them where to go, or just plain answered a question - that is why I am there.
If the guy in the lanes was rude - I am sure it was out of pure frustration wtih the amount of cars we had there. This event has gotten so popular - that no matter what - we bring TONS of cars and spectators.
Next time - I'll work on more time. I don't know if I can get it - but I'll try.

Obviously you didnt read my post. I believe that it says I only made 1 pass. I tried for a second and it started sprinkling so I headed back to the truck. The last time, we were told to move out of the way and come back at a later time. It was like 4:00pm and I was tired of waiting so I just loaded my car back up and watched some more. So for the whiney baby comment you should grow up and comprehend what you are reading before you post.
ps: So it was a big deal to you that I had something negative to say? Becuase unless it was you shouldn't post apparently

LMAO Your sentence doesn't make much sense. I have no patients for stupid shit. So I respnd when I see something stupid! I call it like I see it son. ;)
Maybe you should have said: "I would like to have more TNT time if thats possible next time Brooks?" If thats what you meant.
That is called positive criticism when you actually give the solution to your perceived problem or issue. :)

Turbostank that was the bomb. I am from cali and i had a blast. I put some money for UNC and only did one run but that was my choice. You did a great job and would hope to come out to the next one. I ran a 7.34 and 1.55 60ft 93mph. Not bad for a show Queen

That's been my experience any time i've ever gone to the track. You can watch or race but it's almost impossible to do both.
wise words. i was bitching all day and if i would have realized what you said i think i would have kept my mouth shut.
All in all i think dfwstangers (myself definatly included) are spoiled to a certain extent from the past cruises when we could do whatever we wanted whenever we wanted. its just not something that is possible these days. in the spring i think i will just watch. Hell, the most fun i had all day was standing by the tree and watching/recording some runs.

Next time around, I can promise - if my plans go through.. it will be 10X bigger than ever. There will only be 2 classes as well.
I'll post up a poll, with a couple of format choices, and we'll go from there. I hope to alleviate all of the waiting in line problems etc. I don't want to tell what my plans are - but everyone will be suprised.

this was my first cruise and maybe thats why i feel this way, but...
i thought all was awesome and see no need to complain. if things can be improved thats fu*@in great, but i thought everything was awesome for the number of people there.

Thank you very much for the time and energy you put into the cruise. I was running in the bike class, and I was very happy with how it went down, no complaints at all.
Hopefully there will be a bike class next time and if you need help from this group let us know.
