I'm on a month to month with 24hr and it's $30.31 with taxes. I tried to get a better deal today and was told thats the best they can offer. I'm sure someone else is getting a better price but I need some ammo!

A friend of mine is paying $17 a month but it's at Bally's. Not wanting to switch to them with their forever contract bullshit but I'd be willing to try Lifetime, Larry North or anything else close by (SW Fort Worth).

Get some numbers from other places, then go back to 24hr and see if you can get them to reconsider their lowest possibility.

6.50 a month with the city of plano to use all their facilities. Oakpoint Center with their 50 meter pool is just down the street. :-)

I do have a Bally's membership I keep because I got it years and years ago and it costs me 2.65 a month.

I just reupped with 24hr using a prepay. It was $699 for 3 years and then $29 renewal each year. It provides unlimited access to all Sport Level gyms, came with 5 free training sessions and a bag with a bunch of protien bars, cookies, etc. The all Super Sport package was $749 with a $29 renewal. They usually don't let existing members buy a prepay, but this guy let me. The downside is that when I started up I had to pay first and last month, but I just lost the last month in order to get the deal. I should still come out ahead in the deal because I have already paid 24hr over $1500 for the past 4 years and now it will only cost me $29/year.

They said that it was a special for this weekend only, but you know how that goes.

I pay $23/month for access to every 24 Hour Fitness club. But I've been a member for 10 years and was grandfathered in from when 24 Hour bought Gold's Gym.

I work there. That deal has been going on for quite some time. It will still be going on for some time as well. Its amazing how many people buy that.

The protein bars and what not came with the training package, which will also include a meal plan( This is one of the best things 24 hour offers other than the personal training obviously).

There are coupons that have been sent out that offer $24 per month, in a month to month fashion. You just need to find someone that has one and isn't using it.

Thats the kind of deal I'm looking for. I guess alteast I'm not paying the $42 they charge for membership now. Hell Larry North is only $3 more.

I pay $50 a month for my wife and I at 24hr with the all sport package. Our company pays the enrollment fee so I had to start with the 1st and last month. I can cancel anytime with one month notice.

Larry North was running a deal about 2 months ago that was $25/month with no enrollment or BS fees. Might want to ask about it. That was at the Southlake location, though.

I got 29 a month and no signup fees with 24hr...just signed up this month. They sent out a friends and family coupon to a friend...otherwise it was going to be 30-40 bucks, plus a $79 signup and a $79 dollar initiation! They weren'te even going to provide vasoline.

As long as you have a multi-club package, I dont really think that is that expensive. Especially seeing as how 24 hour fitness plans to double the amount of clubs they offer within the next 3-4 years.

If you compare the size and amount of equipment in a 24 hour to a bally's or smaller club, you can see the difference in the price amount.

Most 24 hour supersport clubs(old Q fitness clubs) are about 50,000 sq. ft. They contain swimming, sauna, jacuzzi, plenty of cardio, free weights, and tons of machines.

If you join a lower level club, the membership prices will obviously be cheaper.

Only some of the Bally's are that size and can compare in quality.

Another thing to keep in mind is the hours of operation. Depending on when you work out, this can be a very beneficial service if they stay open 24 hours a day, or close at 10pm.

As someone stated earlier, a month to month membership is going to be more expensive. If you pay in advance for multiple years, the deals will be better.

if anyones interested i have a card that 24hr fitness sent me after i upgraded my membership to the supersport-national. I talked to a salesperson at 24hr fitness and she gave me some info on the card:

*Pay only $24 per month
*Voids initiation and processing fee(each a $79 value).
*This coupon works at any gym. ie. sport, supersport(some clubs prices may vary)
*You can only workout at the gym u sign up with.
* There is no contract. So if you stay active with 24hr fitness u will pay $24 per month, untill u stop paying. (This thing pays for itself.)
*All that you will pay upfront is your first month and last month dues ($48 total).

I had 2 coupons but already sold one for $50, so if anyones interested please pm me. Thanks

Lifetime fitness is worth it to go look at their facility. I had a freind that used to work there before he transfered to the houston one. My god i would go there any day over 24 hour. first not as crowded, second they have more things outside of the regular machines. They have a set up where you can do the tour de france or w/e on the bikes with a screen in front of you, air rushing at differnt speeds, sounds and everything. They also have the rock climbing which is alot of fun also. Just lettin you know some of the perks there. its really nice, not sure on the pricing though. I know on they're website you can get like a week or something free to try out.

It's on South Hulen street in the same complex as the AMC theater. It is also a month to month contract and you can end it with written notice, but they guarantee the $15 a month price as along as you are a member.
