If its less than a year old, you can send it in. If its over 6 months, it will cost you 30$ bucks tho cuz you have to use their shipping materials.
Buy a new circuit board on Ebay and fix it yourself. You might even be able to solder it back. Compusa and Fry's sell the replacement batteries with a tool to take them apart. It's just some wide flat head screwdrivers though.

LMAO at Fred trying to do that to an iPod :D
Take it (or call) to an Apple Store and see what they have to say about it. If Hunt4m3x is right, you can't beat that for repairing you iPod.

If its out of warranty then do not take it to an Apple Store. They do not repair iPods. They replace them. A replacement would cost 250. The best place to send it is to www.ipodresq.com.
Although the Apple Store would give you 10% off of another iPod if you gave your damaged one to them for recycling. You could just send the money on a new Video iPod instead of repairing yours.

You're most likely going to be better off buying a new one. It might cost slightly more, but you'll have a new device then.
http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/
You can do the whole support thing there and you'll see what people are saying when you see where prices are listed.
Good luck.
