Anyone actually play the DEMO yet? I downloaded it but I've been too busy tyring to play Company of Heros.

BTW if anyone likes RTS games like Command and Conquer you REALLY need to check this game out.

Graphics are sweet and you can destroy the terrain which makes it all so much better

You tard, that's the preload. Can't play it until release date, but atleast on release day you will not have to fight for DL bandwidth.

I have been playing the demo, and I like the idea of the huge amount of unlocks...but it appears that armor dominates this game even more than BF2 which is the opposite of what I wanted.

I don't keep up on EA's inability to keep their release dates. When I saw it said ready for download.......I got that shit as fast as I could. Hell I even changed my pc date to try and play but obviously that was just a desperate act.

I don't think the release date has changed any time recently, the preload is how a lot of online purchasing services are working now to limit server stress. Just because it says "ready for download" does not mean you can play it yet.

Actually, I'd be further up the ladder myself if I played more often, but I got so hooked on my CAL league competitions with Counter Strike Source, that I haven't touched BF2 much lately.

Now I'm sick of CSS and ready to pick back up on muh bf2 :D

I have been playing 2142 the past 2 nights. Pretty cool, deff has the BF2 feel to it. I havent run across many bugs at all and the titan game effin rocks!! Im just kinda tired of the same map.

Personally, I thought it felt like a completely different game. Too frantic, I like the slower, smarter played game. Performance, compared to BF2 is crap as well, imo. They have gotten better about the CTDs and there is quicker loading, but in game it constantly feels like servers are choking in the bigger games.

There is a different feel and it does have more of a frantic UT/Doom feel to it but not near to that extent.

As far as laggy servers I had it hicup once on me last night on a 64 person battle. Im running 6 meg dsl if that matters any.

Maybe I have just been unlucky with server choice but I have had a couple games where I was pinging 19 and stayed at 30-40fps yet I would move my mouse to aim and the crosshair would not respond until about half a second later and at that point I would have turned 45*

My xfire is foxbody btw, for anyone who wants to play.

Nah nothin' special. I use a cheap Memorex keyboard, old Microsoft Explorer optical mouse, and a Logitech 3d Xtreme joystick.

reason I ask (and this is prolly going to make ya laugh since i'm the farthest thing from a computer expert) but when I went wireless on my mouse and keyboard...there was just enough latency between the mouse and receiver that it screwed up with my kdr in fps games :( I thought perhaps, that that may be what was happenin to ya, and not actual server lag.

now I've got my eclipse keyboard and razr copperhead mouse so I'm all set! :D

It's downloading right now at my house (the demo). So I have no opinion yet, I dont want it to be vehicle overload because the spawn camping tanks and APC's on BF2 are such bs.

I need 15k more points to get the L96A1 for my 50k unlock, man I dont think I will ever get to it but its so bad ass, so for now I just go with my M95.

the titan is a ship that is up in the sky and you go around on the ground and you capture missle silo points, it fires the missels and it damages the shields on the titan, when the shield is down you launch your self onto the titan ( you have to be in an apc and out of the driver seat to launch, and make sure your within range to land on the titan) when you land on the titan you go down into it and you destroy 4 mission control panels. once that is done you go into the reactor core room in the center of the titan and you shoot it with your rocket launcher until it is destroyed. when it says its destroyed you run out of the titan and you jump off and open you chute as its blowing up above you. ooo and to open up your chute its not the number 9 key its the space bar. ooo and another thing some servers are very laggy espically when the titans are moving.

It's ok for a demo. Every once in a while it gets laggy, but my ping rarely goes over 9

It's the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle, it's a robot that scans the surrounding area for enemy activity. You can't fly it, the commander calls for it (but doesn't directly fly it either).
