Yessir - that is correct...I've never had to use shims on an ADJUSTABLE VALVETRAIN!

I have had to shim valveSPRINGS due to reduced height block surfaces or heads...and if the latter had pedestal mounted valvetrain, THEN I'd shim them (the rockers)
