First off, everyone can post in MY thread.
Me and sonicblue went to buffalo in canton to ride on saturday, it was fun, we had the whole track to ourselves for a few hours. Tamestang, you gonna show up this weekend????

no, I'm too slow on a couple of those corners. but we had a pretty good ride.
and I raced the Trinity race. Personally, I didn't like the track much. it had about 2.5 - 3 miles of switchbacks in the fields, I lost a contact while racing, and I got a killer case of poison ivy.
Boyd is supposed to be a good track this week. I think I will go ahead and do the TCCRA race this weekend.
If you guys get a chance, Bowie is definitely more fun to ride than Buffalo. For me it is about teh exact same mileage as going to canton
Also, there are 2 - 3 other tracks we need to hit up. Nocona, Athens, and Underground MX in Kemp.
if up for a longer ride Palestine, and there is a new one in Montalba. If we hook up ahead of time I can get my enclosed trailer and haul a couple more bikes. the trailer is up in Frisco.

yeah, Bowie is open Saturday and Sunday now. He just raised the price to $15 starting next week. If you guys go Saturday, early enough I could ride until about 3 then go to Boyd for the TCCRA practice.
Bowie is 23 miles north of Decatur on 287. Yo get off at 1125 (Amon G. Carter lake) exit. Go 1.7 miles to Miller road. make a right and follow that road about .6 miles to the track.
I've said it before, it's an awesome track, and you can ride MX and XC. From Valley ranch it was almost equal distance to get to Bowie, or Buffalo Creek. I think Bowie was 1 - 2 miles shorter. 72 miles to Bowie, almost 74 to Buffalo Creek.

I didn't go last week, but think I am going this Friday to Graham to try Arena Cross. they have practice there this Friday, race on Saturday. (I'm just doing practice). hell one day i should get better and faster at this crap, if I can keep getting the seat time I got last weekend and should get this weekend.
If goes right I will
1) ride Arena cross Friday
2) Bowie MX Saturday
3) Boyd TCCRA practice Saturday after Bowie
4) do TCCRA race on Sunday.
If anyone else is interested in the Arena Cross thing I can find the website.
BTW - Bowie is a lot of fun, but here's a warning for when yo get on the trail. On the first time around the trail, when yo come to any drop offs, be sure to slow down and roll them the first time. there is one bad one. A kid who is a real good reader went off one a little to fast (but not fast enough) that he hit wrong smacked his bars and broke his nose and had a concussion. at the TORN race a kid broke his wrist at that spot. there is an alternate t he drop off that is probably better anyway. like I said just an advance warning. Bowie is a blast!

I wish! I'm just getting to start to again. i used to ride at least once a week, but over the last year work has kept it down to mostly TCCRA events. I'm finally getting to get out when I want. this weekend, if I get to do all that, I'll be wore out on Monday. but it''l be worth it.
I'm definitely in for Bowie Saturday. the only iffy one is Friday night arena cross.

I like Nocona and plan on riding there soon. Bowie is really good, is a little closer, and also only 20 - 30 minutes from Boyd where the TCCRA race is. i want to get down to Boyd in time to do a couple laps

Boyd, which is about 20 - 25 minutes due south of Bowie. If you weren't so far, I'd pick you up.
Do you ever ride Greenveilee MX (is it still there?). I'm going to have my trailer set up to haul at least 3 bikes. so if you want to hook up and ride out that way, sometime I can swing by. there's a track in Mt Pleasnt I'd like to ride again, too. the guy charges $5.

It seems a lot of the tracks are going kinda crazy with some of the jumps. I remember badlands was pretty simple track and now its pretty dangerous on a few spots and take some balls to hit a few of the jumps. Im down to ride but 4 hour drive round trip is pretty freaking far from home. (bowie)

I'm used to it. Badlands has been toned down, again. there are someother tracks closer that aren't bad, too. Kemp, Bonham, could go ride Bells XC.

When I finally get on the track with you I am going to block pass your azz into the ground!!!! heh jk. Sorry man I didn't have a truck to even go in. My cousin had a big modified race so he has the truck. I thought he was done racing for the season because he had a pretty big crash that left his car crippled but they got it fixed in time for some race at devils bowl.

Hey, it ended up raining up at Bowie, and at the TCCRA event. I did 5 laps on the TCCRA track, and had a blast. It rained some there but not enough to make it muddy. Bowie got more rain than Boyd did. It looked like rain all day, as well.
ARH sorry I didn't get back to you earlier, or today. I knew it was out when watching the news. anywhere close had too much chance of ran to load up and haul very far. I stayed at the Boyd track overnight, but woke up to rain, so just watched the race and left.
Next weekend the TORO season starts at Freestone. If we don't get a ride set up before Saturday, I will end up going to that. But hopefully some of yo guys will want to ride. If we set up up soone enough I may be able to carry an extra bike or two, if I go pick up my trailer. if no one needs a ride, I'll probably haul mine in my truck.

I was at Boyd yesterday as well. If you saw a blue Lightning with a v-nose trailer. that was me. you race TCCRA, Or were you just out to practice?
Oh and the answer to the TORO question - I'll be running some. Not sure if I'll do the Denton race. i went to that place for TORO signups last year. Wasn't impressed enough to race it. I'll do Freestone, Bowie, I might give in and do Bells (I have bad luck at that place when racing).
I was just out there for practice. Getting some seat time on a new bike and one of my co-workers is leading the overall so I went to hang out with them.. I'll be at all of the Toro's though so if you get out let me know.. Maybe say hey and have brew.

it's not on TXtracks. It should be a good track. it was good last year, even though they cut out the first two miles of sugar sand, because you couldn't see past the fender.
It's out by pittsburg/Gilmer area. there's also an MX tracks that's pretty good, about 15 miles from there. Loggins Dirts Wurx (I think). Any way, it's about 2 hrs away. I hauling the enclosed trailer to sleep in Sat. night.

Thats my problem I don't want to spend all weekend out there (signin Sat. at 1pm). The non pro race is on Sunday and if you don't sign in Saturday you have to be there at 7am Sunday. Guess I will have to wait for another race.

I was running third going into the last lap. fell trying to avoid someone. By teh time I got going I was in 6th. I think that's where I finished. the Bettie track was a lot of fun. Kinda like Bonita and Athens.
I rode the buddy race at Brian Stories place today. Was kind of a cluster bomb at first but after the start and getting through the traffic it was a pretty cool track and a fun race.
BTW. The TORO race out there is next weekend.

I saw a bunch of peopel coming home from that. i went to Nocona to do the TORCS race. It was a pretty good track, even without trees for the XC part. TORCS is a very well run series, especially for it's first year.
