Currently using OEM Yamaha. I've got about 2 extras. After that I'm thinking about going with that Scotts reusable. Anyone have any opinion on that?

Never heard of them.
Ever since I read that site I posted I use Honda or K&N.
I like the idea of reusable's though becasue when you take the filter out for cleaning you can see what's been coming out of the motor. You gotta link?

I'm kinda addicted to K&N's now because of the nut on the end... that makes it really nice on filters in tight places.

I use K&N is my car for that very reason, the filter is really a tight fit aorund my headers. Use factory on my bike though.
look for anything with synthetic filter media,

I voted OEM - I've always *heard* good things about Honda filters. (I flip everything, my personal bikes are always Hondas) but I don't know if they are really any better than anything else. I will say, Honda seems to over-engineer everything they do and I love that about the company. They aren't always the cheapest, but the quality always seems to be VERY high. I use Honda Polish (comes in a spray can) on all the bikes I sell. It's my secret, ssshhh don't tell anyone! You can safely use it on all surfaces, it's not greasy, and it's not overly shiny like most automotive plastic/rubber dressings. It gives the bike a showroom new look. I swear, that little can makes bikes sell faster and for more money.
I like K&N filters because they have a nut on the end, but I also dislike them because the have a nut on the end. On some bikes it gets in the way and makes getting the filter on or off a BITCH.

I used the napa gold on my R6. In fact, I still have a replacement filter in the garage- but no more bike... LOL.

I use WIX, it is the best for the price. FRAM is bad for any vehicle.

BTW, what do you guys think about the Scotts oil filters? What did Stephen mean about the anti-drain back valve? Seems like I remember reading somewhere that it holds oil in and releases it immediately upon start up. Is that about right? So does it mean the Scotts filter doesn't have that feature?

Anti drain back is a valve that is designed to do 2 things. Once you tunr off the bike oil pressure drops so the valve closes which holds in oil.so next time you start up theres no wait time untill the oil filter fills up with oil again. Its also designed to bypass itself when the filter gets full. That way oil still circulates and doesnt casue a blockage at the oil pump. I couldnt tell if the scotts had it or not. There website sisnt have a good descirption of it.

I'll do some research on the Scotts filter tomorrow while I'm at work. Do you have a list of filters that have this anti-drainback feature?

All manufacture's employ it into their filters. I havent seen any that havent had one other than scotts.Im not saying it doesnt have that feature, but from the cutaway it didnt look like it have it.
